Palais Namaskar

This is a super lovely hotel with superb staff. Staying at this hotel made a big difference in my stay in Marrakech. I did find it very luxurious but, at the same time, easy to navigate. From having gym facilities to the option to exchange money at a great rate and the lovely food at the restaurant with international and Moroccan menus.

Beautifully kept grounds with expansive waters, well kept gardens. Check in was in a separate building, Nice interior. In room 108, deluxe room with water front and own jacuzzi. Jacuzzi is really a little circular tube with cold water rather than hot. Antechamber with coffee machine, office and fridges. Nice size room with sofa in front of bed then a passage way, half way in to the commode and all the way to large bathroom with big shower area, nice bath tube and airy bathroom. The passage itself is narrow and and issue when doors of clothes cabinet open. Terrace- nice bit morning sun, large bamboo tree with lots of sparrows nesting there during that evening- they fly back and make a racket in the evening around sun down. Breakfast good- in doors or outdoors. 4 courses practicallly with fruits plate followed but bread basket and pastries, cheese should have come with this rather than at the end. Next omelette and egg Benedict and finally French toast. Quality overall good. Ripe fruits, good eggs, nice French toast. Cappuccino was good. fresh orange juice. Service was slow and long pause after bread basket/ pastries and cooked food arriving. Issue with sparrows as they pick off food when left unattended including fresh food arriving from kitchen on a silver tray and waiters move away to serve them part by part. Dinner was good- see different review for restaurant. Spa- disappointing that you can only use the hammam if you have Hammam treatment and even if you have a massage not for hotel guest. That should really change. Pool area, is next to breakfast/ lunch dining area with lounge beds. Lots of people with day passes who use it too so rather bustling. Nice and sun all day but the music could be less with base, and softer and a few more choice/variety than the three CD’s that they have. It really ruined the ambience when trying to relax at the pool. Gym- good, functional, could do with more light in the day. House keeping removed coffee and tea cups/ glasses to clean and forget to return and require a call to house keeping. And forget to top up coffee capsules, tea bags And bottles of water for the coffee machine. daily bottles of water albeit present on check in day and required some prompting. Negative: far from town centre and other food. Food Options limited No shuttle service 200 maD for taxi before 7pm and 300 mad after 7pm Limited music selection. Positives: Quiet,Calming - truly a wonderful place to destress. Breakfast is good/Ala carte rather than buffet. Complimentary drinks by the pool/ lounge area. Functional Gym

Palais Namaskar offers a good leisure area and spacious, comfortable rooms. However, the hotel’s location, approximately 30 minutes by car from tourist attractions. The restaurant waitstaff is polite but falls short of the expected courtesy standards for a 5-star hotel. What disappointed me the most was the treatment of two macaw birds at the hotel. They are confined in a very small cage with dirty water to drink and inappropriate food. Witnessing this cruelty saddened me. I hope that Palais Namaskar takes measures to ensure the well-being of these animals.

Great Hotel, room, service and staff. The hotel is not far away from Marrakech. Great to stay out of the city. Very peaceful and quite place. Food it’s excellent. It’s a very good option to stay near Marrakech. 25 minutes from downtown. Excellent.

Hotels have two components. Facilities and management. The facilities here are five star bordering on six. Somebody built an amazing palace a long time ago that the hotel now benefits from. The trickier part is management. The hotel is poorly managed, which is a shame as the staff are smiley and helpful but decisions are being made above their heads which are very uncommercial. Specifically: the music at the pool is all mural/covers of songs that were never hits in the first place..it plays on constant repeat and is predominantly US soul and R+B, which I happen to detest. But even fans of those genres would get fed up with the music within a day. Second problem: hordes of chavvy day trippers who take over the only pool most days from 11.30 onwards. This includes hordes of teenage Instagrammers preening around the edges all day. Third problem : pricing. In peak August holiday season the hotel was at best 30% full. The reason is it is very expensive. Once you check in you are then skinned alive for lunch and dinner (expect to spend £500/day for a family of four assuming not much drinking), both of which take ages (at least two hours). The good news is I have the fix for the hotel. 1. Reduce prices and ban day trippers. You won’t need them because occupancy will go up. 2. Simplify the menu and cut the prices in half and include some light dishes that are not $35 each. 3. Change the music, urgently. Get a consultant in if necessary. To end on a positive note, the hotel is spectacularly beautiful and well equipped and has beautiful gardens. Just needs to wake up and be more commercial.

The hotel and its facilities are incredible, the architecture is great and the whole area was clean and pretty. However, the food service was poor. Whilst the food and staff were super a 2 course dinner often took ＞2 hours. This wouldn’t be unreasonable for a packed hotel however we couldn’t help but notice the lack of people at dinner. At most there were usually 3 other tables dining at the same time as us. Also, whilst the pool was beautiful and a nice sun trap the hotel let in dozens of day guests between 11:30 and 5:30. These day guests were mostly loud, annoying and poorly behaved. They were not at all the demographic we were planning to be spending the day around at a 5 star hotel. This was the most disappointing thing about the hotel we found as it meant unless you had headphones on you would constantly be ambushed by screaming children and adults alike. The music was also appalling and the playlist being used contained mostly very poor covers of pop songs and would be played on repeat all day every day. On the whole, it is a beautiful hotel with lovely staff but it is clearly being managed poorly from higher up.

The worst honeymoon....... Unprofessional management, unskilled workers, bad service, food are evitable, only the views are worth it!!
