Manga Beach Hotel

After spending a week at Masoala peninsula I was just simply overjoyed to stay at a modern hotel with lovely large room with good view over the harbour, hot water, excellent shower pressure, firm pillows and plenty of charging points with electricity not rationed. They have a nice garden too. The surrounding area and the market felt safe. Staff were all nice. The restaurant had decent menu, well cooked dish and cold beer. My wife really liked the Chinese dish and I liked my Thai soup. Breakfast was adequate, nothing great but good enough before catching the flight. Air con was very effective. No mossies and mosquito nets had no holes. This hotel exceeded my expectations completely in a place like Maroantsetra.

This is a good hotel in a very poor part of Madagascar. The rooms are clean, spacious and bright, with good views of the countryside. The choice in the restaurant was limited but the food was good; we could find local Madagascar cuisine there (which was rare). However, not every room was equiped with a mosquito net, there were few power sockets in the room and we could not open the French windows leading to the balcony. I would also suggest that each room be equiped with an electric kettle so that one would not have to buy bottled water; bottled water generates a lot of plastic garbage.
