Turaco Lodge - No Loadshedding

W O W This was our first time in SA and it did not disappoint! The lodge is in a beautiful location with fabulous animals who love to visit. We got up close to the zebra, kudu, bush babies, genet, pumba and so many more. It far exceeded our expectations! The managers, Kent, Michelle, Terry & Trudy, went far beyond to make sure we were looked after, nothing was any trouble for them. The owner also dropped in and introduced himself, which was a lovely touch. The food was out of this world (although I did get a little over whelmed at portion size by my OH helped me out) The chefs were amazing and came out every meal to explain the food. The lodge was spotless, the lovely maids made sure of that. The pool guy kept himself busy, looking after both the grounds and pool. We stayed 10 nights and had an excursion booked every day. The Game Drives were wonderful. We were fortunate enough to see the big 5 more than once. I cannot express enough how amazing this was. Our guides, Dirk and Johan (Dirk for 3 & Johan for 1) absolutely knew their stuff and didn’t give up looking for animals. Dirk even found us wild dogs in our last 5 mins on our last safari. This isn’t just any holiday, it’s been the best experience of our lives and that’s down to the fantastic staff at Turaco. Thank you.. you truly made our year!

This place is amazing. Firstly the setting in Marloth Park where you can wake up and enjoy breakfast with the passing Zebra or enjoy your evening meal with the beautiful Genet or bushbabies , whatever you are doing you are surrounded by the most fantastic wildlife. The rooms we had were both spotless and well decorated, we were given a much larger room on our second day which had 2 large bedrooms and a huge bathroom as there were 3 of us which was a very welcome gesture. The food each evening was well cooked, well presented,tasty, and plentiful. Along with all of the above, what makes Turaco Lodge extra special is everyone who works there, so thank you to Marcel,Terry,Trudy,Kent,Michelle, and the whole staff crew who because of your hospitality and enthusiasm for the Lodge and surrounding area made our stay exceptional. Absolutely everything here was outstanding! The staff was so welcoming and made us feel like family members during the whole stay. Dinner was a highlight every single evening, always freshly cooked and tasty. We had two safari drives with Dirk, who didn't give up until we spotted every single animal we wanted to see. He took us on a family trip on father's day with his wife's sisters and their husbands and we felt like family throughout the day. During our stay we learned a lot about Marloth Park and Kruger and couldn't be happier to have chosen this lodge! Thanks again to Dirk, Michelle and Kent! It was brilliant! A home away from home.

We really enjoyed our stay in Turaco. The staff was super friendly and attentive they couldn’t do enough for us - arranging additional trips and sharing their knowledge. The family room was spacious and clean, the patio and garden wonderful to sit after a long day of Safari in nearby Kruger. Food was great, accommodating our dietary requirements- simply nothing to complain about would love to go back and would highly recommend.

Great Staff, all very helpful nothing to much trouble & the Safaris & Bush Walk were Fantastic. Would come back anytime.

I travelled alone to Turaco Lodge, and was looked after extremely well. The lodge, food, staff, safaris and days out in surrounding area were first class . Could not be faulted. I am definitely coming back. It was the best holiday of my life , thank you to everyone
