Rented multiple cabins and immediately regretted it when we got there. This place could have so much potentially but it is run down and outdated. I looked in 5 of the 7 cabins that were rented by our large family and every single cabin was filled with issues. You should not advertise your "newer/updated" cabins on your website. It's is extremely misleading. What you charge for what is offered is outrageous! Call it "redneck" whatever you want, but to me its just an excuse to offer the bare minimum and rip off families trying to have a nice vacation. Wasps nest all around the cabins, multiple family members stung, broken furniture, rotting floors, toilets barely worked, no air in bedrooms, broken smoke alarms, broken cabinets, garbage in the river around the house boats, no water at times, mattresses that are completely sunken in the middle, and honestly so much more. We honestly tried to make the best of it, but there was so much we couldn't overlook that we couldn't get on the road back home fast enough. Instead of insulting people who are trying to give you honest feedback on your property I would listen and start making improvements. We will ALL be taking our money somewhere else next year. To note I never leave reviews for anything, but I had to here. Hopefully you guys start taking feedback seriously and are upfront with your guests about accommodations. Also no refunds policy is wild since you guys obviously know there are problems with your cabins.

My sister booked a floating cabin for a sisters vacation fishing trip. Week of the 4th of july. Monday - Thursday. We had a 1 bedroom. The place overall was run down. The money they are charging for these cabins😕, you would think they would give this place an overall update! Staff was friendly, but store closed at 4:30 everyday we were there. Private....Boat dock & Marina with NO BAIT!!!! THE ENTIRE 4 DAYS! We had to get in the car and drive to look for bait and food! The only food was junk food or sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil in the cooler! The cabins at the least need to be power washed to get all the gunk and spider webs off. Inside cabins very outdated, but clean... everything worked! Mini fridge didn't cut it! Need a actual fridge to put food and drinks in! Inconvenient walkway 🤬on dock to get all your luggage to cabin....you had to squeeze down a narrow path around a fuel pump and hope you and your luggage didn't fall off into the water! Distillery was closed only open on weekends! Fishing was great! Views were beautiful!

“Rustic” is a very generous description of this place. Our floating cabin was 86 degrees inside, smelled like a septic tank and was covered in May flies. Maintenance severely lacking, broken picnic tables, goat poop everywhere, a lot of vegetation and debris around the marina that clogged boat motor every time leaving and returning, and their $220 per night price for lodging, parking fees for trailers, boats, and every other “add on” expense were absurd. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because despite the miserable nature of the cabin conditions, it was clean. Staff was also pleasant, even though they didn’t do anything to rectify the conditions. RV sites ok, but nearest boat ramp a mile away. If it weren’t for our friends, we would have left after the first night. A lot of potential…and missed opportunities for repeat business. Won’t return.

We stayed 3 nights at this place . The cabin was clean , well set up for our time there . The bed was comfy and provided a good night's sleep . It was awesome to wake up to the view of the lake and the mountains around us . We loved fishing from our front porch , and caught our first ever large mouth bass . The staff was wonderful , very friendly and helpful . We stayed at other fish camps this summer , and this one did not disappoint us . It was exactly what we were looking for , R&R .

My wife and I travel to Hales Bar Marina twice a year and each time we are there, we have a awesome time. From the moment we check in to the time we leave, the staff go out of their way to make our stay memorable. They never disappoint. Infact we have adopted the entire staff at Hales Bar Marina into our family. We love you guys.

I love fishing and this place offers amazing fishing BUT the ceiling fan in the floating cabin did not work . The window air conditioner barely worked ….. the last day it broke . We asked for an extra fan and never got one . The cabin was very clean and would have been a four star but with no circulation and half working air conditioner it ****** . It was hot AF . The people next to use also had a barely working air conditioner and they did get moved to a different cabin with air conditioning . It was okay ….. would I recommend it …… probably not. My main goal was to fish and we did catch some beauty’s ….

Let me preface this by saying, I used to live in the Marion County area several years ago, so I’ve seen the changes over time that this place has had, and it’s not many. We were invited by family in town to come stay at a floating cabin. Let’s start there. They really missed the mark on the views. The unit should be turned around so the bigger porch/deck, is facing open waters and the mountain vs the marina. The unit itself was nice, small, but clean. Would rather have had an extra couch vs the indoor dining room, but I digress. The refrigerator is terrible so bring a cooler with ice. The pool area is decent, but the pool was a little dirty. No funny smells or anything just bugs and leaves. I really can’t tell what they’re trying to do with this facility. They have ample space and opportunity to make something nice, especially with the high end mountain homes coming in, but it just feels like they’re trying to do too much in different areas. Been this way for years.

Clean but somewhat run down do not expect to get internet they do have Roku TV but with no internet that means no TV website states 175 a night for one bedroom cabin on the water ends up being more like 300 plus a night after their taxes and clean up fees, for that much money you would expect a little bit nicer place probably won't be going back

The trip was a weekend getaway with one of my sons and his girlfriend who has been here several times. I always read reviews and information about a place i have never been before. The reviews i read was disheartening but despite the sour taste the review i read left with me, we booked. First the price is very expensive! we booked a floating cabin that sleeps 2 on the website. The price started out good 175 per night, by the time i got to check out it was $500 for two nights! Well needless to say the price cut the whole family out of going. Our main purpose was to just get away to see something we have not seen before and fish. Well, the fishing part was excellent! We had so much fun fishing and we caught bluegill and catfish. Everyone at the place was so kind, it seemed like i already knew them! Fred checked us in. Absolutely wonderful man. The ladies there was so helpful. If i could i would go back every month just to see everyone! The cabin was clean and cute, it was just enough for me and my husband. All the guests that were in the cabins were happy and kind. I don' t believe any one caught as many fish as we did,but they where out there trying.
