Il Best Western La Conchiglia è un hotel posizionato al centro del l'abitato di Palinuro in posizione sopraelevata da cui si gode di un panorama splendido sulla baia. Ha molti punti positivi tra cui la possibilità di scegliere la tipologia di soggiorno, noi abbiamo scelta la camera con balcone e vista panoramica, la pulizia è eccellente, il confort è notevole, la biancheria è di prima scelta, la climatizzazione è adeguata e non manca nulla come TV satellitare, frigo bar, WI FI, ascensore, infissi a chiusura ermetica, il parcheggio è adeguato alle esigenze ed illuminato al passaggio delle persone (da tenere in conto che l'abitato di Palinuro è stracolmo di abitazioni). Il personale è estremamente cortese e gentile e i cuscini sono di morbidezza variabile. Vi sono anche alcuni punti negativi e secondo la opinione personale penalizzano un poco l'hotel, la doccia è minimale, come struttura ed ampiezza (vetri e montanti di pessima plastica indegni di un hotel a tale livello), manca la possibilità nel bagno di poter poggiare un qualsivoglia oggetto, il letto, con ottimi materassi, matrimoniale era formato da due materassi uniti, in tal caso si sente la mancanza del topper, al nostro arrivo con pochissime presenze l'acqua era tiepida (29 settembre) nei giorni successivi, con più presenze, l'acqua era calda. Da ultimo in hotel viene dichiarata una distanza dalla spiaggia più vicina (ficocella) di circa 400 metri ma non si accenna minimamente a lla pendenza delle scali e del tracciato che è veramente impegnativo. Colazione molto buona fornita di tutto dal dolce al salato, ottime le mini sfogliatine e le crostate di ogni gusto. Da ultimo il costo, un poco elevato visto il periodo a cavallo tra fine settembre e i primi di ottobre.

Don't expect the glamorous side of the 80s. When checking in, you'll certainly notice the 80s decor, which is neverending in this hotel. It's not the nice throwback retro style that's popular these days, but the actual thing. To update entirely would be so expensive, I guess they're just leaving it this way. In the 80s, this hotel must've been top notch, now it's just old crap and a huge fixer upper. I still had a nice time; beds were good, view is amazing and there's a nice balcony. Breakfast is reasonable; if you're into sweet, you'll be happy. If you're longing for warm, fresh bread and all sorts of cheeses, go elsewhere. Kindness of staff was ok; when checking in, there was a quick hello and key exchange, that was it; no smile, no welcome and certainly no information. Later at the bar downstairs we were treated very nice and kind. Wi-Fi was too weak in the room, though perfect at the pool. The loud music at the pool was horrendous. What's that all about?! Would I visit again? No. If I could turn back time (no pun intended), would I choose the same hotel? Yes, just because of the comfort of the room (great airco!) and the view/location.

Ho passato un fine settimana, con la mia ragazza, in questo hotel. Dista 10min a piedi dalle spiagge (ha anche un lido convenzionato al costo di 22€) e 12/15min dal centro storico ma, per quest’ultimo, vi consiglio di usare l’auto per arrivarci perché la strada non è particolarmente idonea al passeggio soprattutto di notte. L’hotel ha un grande parcheggio, comune al ristorante convenzionato “Al vecchio Frantoio”, ed alle spalle vi sono una serie di camere ristrutturate, immerse in un verde ben curato. La camera è moderna, dotata di climatizzatore centralizzato, bagno con fono e bidet, mini-frigo e tv. La colazione è dalle 8:00 alle 10:00 ed è composta da varie crostate ed altri dolci, cornetti, succhi, cereali oppure salumi o pizze. Ottima la possibilità di chiedere il cappuccino con il latte di soia per gli intolleranti al lattosio (queste persone possono mangiare una delle due tipologie di fette biscottate presenti oppure i cereali e le marmellate artigianali). Abbiamo usufruito gratuitamente della piccola piscina, non molto frequentata, in pieno relax con 7/8 ombrelloni ognuno dei quali con due lettini. Forse andrebbe pulito più spesso il fondo ed i bordi della piscina. Consiglio questo hotel per passare la vacanza in tranquillità con tutti i confort.
