Room frozen on arrival no bar no restaurant as advertised no reception on arrival had to wait to enter due too code given being wrong

Clean tidy hotel room. Nicely decorated. The king size(maybe bigger) bed was extremely comfortable. The only down points were the windows let in a lot of cold air. Okay, the first night there was a gale force wind and secondly the windows I think were original Georgian single pain glass. The bathroom was very nice and also clean but the shower didn't fit the holder properly so I had to hold it when showering and there was a hole in the pipe that leads from the mixer to the shower head so water was firing out all over. Those are the only 2 points that were wrong with the room otherwise the room was fine so don't be put off.

Our stay at Cresent Victoria was fantastic. Owner and partner were really pleasant and extremely accommodating. They also very kindly held a parking space for our car Room was clean and modern with very comfy bed and good heating Ocean view was very nice Well situated with many nice bars and restaurants close by Looking forward to returning Thanks for making the stay very pleasant

Initially stayed here Easter 2024 and then rebooked for a family event at Easter 2025. Paid in full for my room at the time for 2025. Now I find in December 2024 my booking has been cancelled. Reason given hotel is closing down 🤔 So a little investigating proved this wrong, infact despite my room being cancelled I found I can still book in this hotel for the same dates and three rooms left. The difference .. price has been doubled! YEP DOUBLED!

The online images and write up about this hotel had me completely fooled. In reality the hotel was tired and in desperate need of some TLC. The staff on reception were very polite and had good intentions, but everything else beyond that was a disaster. The room was very tired and in need of a makeover, the carpet was covered in stains ,the decor was shabby, half the smoke alarm was missing, the shower head was forcing the water out of the top with no sprinkle, the shower tray flooded and spilt over into the room within a couple of minutes use, the shower room door would not close and the decals were peeling back from the furniture The cocktail bar and restaurant are non existent and to my surprise had actually been closed for over a year - a fact that was not advertised on their website. In fairness to the staff at the hotel we did get offered another room, but this was only marginally better in that it had a functional leak free shower and a complete smoke alarm, all of the other issues previously mentioned apply to this room as well.

On arrival, and getting parked ( a lottery!) We were greeted by 2 pleasant ladies, we had a chat and went to the room, decor was OK, but then the problems started. The door on the bathroom was so stiff it looked as if the handle was loose due to tugging the door open! The toilet was constantly running so wouldn't flush ,the decorative flush mont fell off in my hand, the shower had no heat control know and the seat of the toilet wasn't fixed.we explained this to our host who assured us that this will be rectified .we returned some 6 hours later with no guest services at all and NOTHING had been rectified. We were also informed there was no breakfast due to the room being refurbished ( we now know that this poor excuse has been used for at least 1 year, maybe more. This is clearly a B and B ( without the last B ....... Chances of getting a refund? Probably none £170 for a bed for one night,BTW, there were no guest services in the morning we left, tea and coffee was in a " wardrobe". ******* also had the front to take a further £ 30 from me clearly not having checked these folk out. Did I mention ******* So I would avoid both this "hotel" and *******. I have video evidence of this room but can't show it.....shame!
