We stayed here for one night as we had a funeral to attend close to the location. Having stayed in many Premier Inns we knew what we expected. Overall it was a positive experience but not as good as some other Premier Inns we have used. We had trouble contacting them beforehand with a query. It took several attempts over many hours to get someone to answer the phone. Having said that they were very helpful when we eventually got through. The restaurant was closed, so we were disappointed not to be able to have our evening meal there, which we had planned with other family members who were also attending the funeral. As an unexpected, goodwill gesture, we were given a complimentary breakfast the following morning. Which we thoroughly enjoyed and would have been happy to pay for. The location is great if travelling by train, right next to the station. Our room had a sea view. Generally, it could do with redecorating but as a one night stay it was reasonably clean and comfortable. I would consider staying again if I were ever in the area.

Perfect for what I needed. Central location right on the seafront with a few minutes walk to the pier and shops. Parking included, clean tidy room, air con, good size room, friendly staff especially Jamie You know exactly what you’re getting with a Premier inn Thank you

I was taking part in the 10 Bay Challenge which was a 15 mile race starting on the beach close to the hotel. The location was ideal and it was very convenient to be minutes from the start line. A beautiful coastline which is well worth exploring. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic with their encouragement towards the runners which was appreciated. Morrisons, McDonalds, KFC & Greggs all nearby.

We got here at around 11, and were able to do an early check in which was good. They put us outside in the annex building, and as soon as we opened the door to the room, we were hit with a very strong chemically smell, and felt stuffy and damp. We were about to head out, so thought we would leave the window open a little to give the room some fresh air, but the windows did not open at all! Assuming it is because we were 4 meters away from the railway tracks (which was not mentioned when booking), but even in that case it should be able to be opened just even a crack. After a long day out, we got back around 9pm and the room still had the overpowering smell of chemicals and damp. We put the air on overnight which helped the smell in the bedroom a bit, but the smell in the bathroom was still too much. The night sleep was the worst we have ever had in a premier inn. Both of us woke every hour to the sound of banging from the room upstairs, along with the sound of trains going by. The bed wasn’t comfortable, and the sheets were covered in stains. Mould on walls in the corner of the bedroom, and on the walls/ceiling in the bathroom. We ended up leaving at 7:30am because we just wanted to get out for some fresh air and both had headaches from this room!

Bath was filthy, as was floor and toilet. Couldn't use the shower at all. Not been cleaned properly in a long time. Asked to see head of housekeeping, told not in 'till after 10 am

The hotel could really do with a refurbishment. Carpets, paintwork really manky. The smell of damp in our room, a few questionable body fluids in places and breakfast was complete sham. Plus rude staff. Would not recommend. Only good thing is free parking and close to the station.

We’ve stayed here a few times when visiting friends in the area in recent years, and it looks like no money has been spent on the rooms to improve them in that time. Our room was spacious, but looked like it needed a good deep clean. We stayed for 3 nights and asked that the room be cleaned each day, we were told on check-in to request this each morning before 12. We duly did this but on our third day the room was not cleaned /serviced and we had to ask for fresh towels. The hotel looks scruffy nowadays from the outside too, and windows clearly need cleaning, inside and out! We only had breakfast on the first day, and found everything looked picked over and swimming with grease, it was not worth what we paid. Again parts of the restaurant and serving areas looked unhygienic - this put us off and we found alternative local breakfast facilities on other days. I think next time we’re in Margate, we’ll look elsewhere.

You get what it says in the TV adverts. Rooms always clean and well presented. Handy passageway from hotel to pub restaurant.
