Hotel Costa Caribe is an offer for undemanding people who want to sunbathe and have fun. The standard of the hotel is very low, so it is best to spend time outside the rooms, which are in a very poor condition. The hotel has so many shortcomings that it is easier to say what is positive: - comfortable beds (thankfully), - a pleasant massage they perform by the pool, - tasty food (in limited quantity), - good drinks (passion fruit with rum), - nice beach. Unfortunately, everything else is broken, neglected or limited. A useful Spanish word for this hotel is "roto" (broken). Only two people from the reception knew English, the rest of the staff only spoke Spanish. During our stay, we had the door lock repaired, the toilet flush, the lamp in the bathroom and a hair dryer and safe installed, for which we waited 2 days. Room changes are the norm. We changed it once, others even 3 times. The bathrooms are in terrible condition, with many defects. Air conditioning in the rooms is a big fungus. Hotel service is polite but slow. The food in the restaurant was tasty but very poor and monotonous. The gaps were not filled on an ongoing basis, people who came later had little choice. That's why I recommend shrimp and oysters sold on the beach at very low prices. I rate the pools positively in terms of different water levels, you can sit and soak or go to another part to swim. Unfortunately, pool cleaning was not carried out regularly. There was garbage in the pool and sediment appeared on the shore. The hotel had shortages of mineral water, food and hot water for bathing, but there was an abundance of one thing: loud Latin music. Discos last until 1 a.m. and there is no quiet place. The music is loud and can be heard throughout the hotel. People who need hot, boiled water (e.g. for a child) will have a problem with it because the rooms are not equipped with electric kettles. There were 2 kettles in the hotel (1 in the restaurant and 1 in the snack bar) where the water boiled for 20 minutes, the first one to "catch" the kettle with boiling water had tea, the others waited another 20 minutes. It is worth taking a hotel taxi to the town of Juan Griego and to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Valley. What will be useful: dollars in "one" currency (there is nowhere to exchange them), mosquito spray, an electric kettle, a charger with the appropriate tip, strong sunscreen. Hotel Costa Caribe is a poor hotel that still needs a lot of improvements and is definitely not a place for families with children.
