Just recently stayed at JWMarriot at Marco Island. (March 12-15) Reserved two rooms that were supposed to be Kings with pullout bed. When we arrived and checked in we had two king rooms with no pullout bed. We had our grandchildren with us and we needed the pullout beds. Hotel agreed to provide roll out bed but very uncomfortable and not what we paid for. I have requested a refund

Friendly and incredibly kind staff. Food choices were excellent. Proximity to the beach is unbeatable! The pools were beautiful. I would suggest more serving staff around the pool. It took quite a while to order something.

First of all, let me just say that I tried very hard to find something negative to say because this place is absolutely perfect. Since it’s so amazing, I’ve decided to come here in addition to my go too (yelp) to share. I'm going to start off with Staff. I am well aware that Marriott has a very extensive symphony of service training that they provide all of their associates. But.... you can't train someone without the drive or the right personality. Every single person we interacted with was absolutely amazing! Shout out to Chris from the front desk and all of his team. Made checking in and out a breeze and uber helpful. The pools are amazing! they have multiple locations (one is kid free). They have a mini splash pad and a waterslide which our kids absolutely loved. First day and we happen to go to the sidebar by one of the pools and place lunch orders. This is where we met Vince. Vince is our absolute favorite human in this hotel!!!!!. Not only was he helpful and explained where everything was in great detail, he gave amazing recommendations for foods and drinks and was always , very pleasant. You can tell that he loves his job. Wish every Marriott had a Vince. Our first day there they had a foam party for the kids by the beach in the evening. Second day, they had a mermaid they brought in an addition to a bounce house and slide on the beach for the kids to use. And every night they had s'mores by the beach. whoever the activities Director is needs a raise! There is absolutely no time to do all the amazing activities these people are offering! Kudos to you guys!!!!. And thank you to the Tiki Club staff for the goodies. Our kids were beyond excited to meet, build a bear and for the gifts. The rooms were very spacious and clean. I absolutely love the bathroom layout. All of the rooms seem to have a beach view which was great. And we loved all the green lawn areas. Our kids were able to do gymnastics, and run around on. We tried a variety of different restaurants while at the hotel. Left reviews for those as well if you want to check them out. But there's not one place in this hotel, I wouldn't recommend. Also, in the morning when we went for breakfast at one of the buffet restaurants, they had a complementary full-blown coffee bar for all guests. That was amazing. Also have they awesome JW Illy bar and a bunch of other quick food options. I could honestly go on and on about all the amazing things in this hotel. But, I am sad to share one negative thing that I did fine which honestly has nothing to do with the actual hotel itself.... the beach.... Okay, hear me out... in the morning you can see the tracks of where they've raked and clean the sand by the beach. They keep this very clean and very organized. However, the water is disgusting. It was covered in this broken down, black seaweed like that looks like trash but is actual seaweed. Perhaps it's because we are from the east coast and expected the water to be the same. But, in my

This place gets how to treat a titanium Elite Bonvoy member! An easy, beautiful drive from Fort Myers Airport as you pull in the valet staff is there to cheerfully greet you . Check-in was superb upgraded to a wonderful Lanai suite where we were able to walk right out onto the beach. The staff here is so friendly from one end of the property to the other. They are constantly cleaning, ensuring the ambiance is perfect. Several very nice restaurants on site as well as bars. Daily cleaning of your room is much appreciated. Breakfast is provided and very yummy, also to adult beverages each evening. There's an on-site desk to set up tours we took the Airboat tour of Everglades Park don't miss that one it's fun to do. We spent one day at the spa. Wow, what an experience. Folks that work here have been here a long time and seem very happy. The sunsets here are phenomenal, and there's a nightly fire show on the beach. This Marriott property earned five stars and more!

I went to the JW Marriott on Marco Island on a solo trip for my birthday. I had the most wonderful time and the staff there made me feel so special. I booked a Gulf-facing view and it surpassed my expectations. The grounds are amazing and the beach is wonderful. You don’t have a tiny beach that you are confined to and you can walk the miles-long stretch of it. Sunsets are not to be missed. You are indeed given a beach lounge chair and umbrella as part of your stay. Yes, you do have to pay for reserved, front row, beach/pool chairs, but you’re not far from the view. Yes, the food and drinks are top price point but you are paying for quality, service and a great experience. I think it was all worth it. I work for a 115 year-old world famous luxury retail store so I know customer service. All the stuff at this resort were polished and top notch hosts. Shout out to Sia and Matthew: You made me feel like a Birthday Princess. Thank you and I cannot wait to come back. The only issue I had was that when leaving the resort, I was not asked if I self parked or valeted. It caused a bit of confusion and a line of waiting cars behind me because I was not given the appropriate card to get out of the parking lot.

DISAPPOINTING. WAY OVERPRICED for what you get. Don't expect a lounge chair at the pool- there's another upcharge for that too even though DAILY resort fee of $50 is added to already very high hotel room rates plus $40 DAILY fee just to park. Want 2 small umbrellas at the beach for your family of 4? Pay another $30 a day. Want a waffle for breakfast? STAND IN LINE FOR 23 minutes for one (& it was dry & overcooked). Both my husband & I travel a lot (Lifetime Platinum at Marriott) - we were especially infuriated that more than half the chairs at the pool need to be reserved for a fee. We couldn't even get / use lounge chairs even though we didn't see one person "renting" all the unused ones!! I also understand seaweed on their beach-front can be challenging, but every other hotel and condo had managed to get rid of it. We've never seen such a pile up on a Florida beach - yuck! Only positive at resort was pretty views from rooms and many restaurants to choose from - some with decent pricing to keep you on-site. The Spa is spacious & very nice. The arcade was a HUGE rip-off at $3 for every game including ski-ball - even my kids didn't want to spend their hard-earned money. Felt ripped-off / taken advantage of at every turn. Also, my kids have life-threatening allergies to tree nuts. I don't expect much but we couldn't use their complimentary continental breakfast since there were nuts scattered everywhere, right next to every food choice (other than cereal)! Hotel staff is more concerned about pleasing life choices for vegans. Gorman / waiter was amazing & did his best but shouldn't have to deal with daily since very small hotels get this right. We appreciate the welcome drink but we each got one coconut/punch coctail the first night - the rum was so cheap, we didn't drink more than a sip - maybe just give guests a $3 credit towards a drink of their choice. We will go back to the Hilton Marco Island - half the price and much better beach and you can actually sit somewhere at the pool. VERY DISAPPOINTED for high charges all around - just not worth it

Our family of 4 just returned from a one week stay at the JW Marriott Marco Island. We had two connecting rooms and this was our second stay at this resort. We paid a hefty price tag for these two rooms and also paid the $45 a day resort fee times two rooms. So an extra $90 a day in “resort fees”. If you want to park your car it’s $45 a day and more if you valet. The Fort Myers airport is about 50 minutes from the resort. Unfortunately, this visit was nothing like our experience last year. The JW Marriott is just not what it used to be. I agree with the previous post that the hotel is getting run down and yet they are charging exorbitant prices just to get in the door and then they nickel and dime you for everything else. First, upon check in, we were not told that after Hurricane Debbie the ocean water was not safe to swim in due to bacteria levels. We were told by local residents and then had to do our own further research online. I complained to management that it was negligent to not inform guests of the unsafe water and only after I complained signs were posted. We specifically came to this resort for the beach. We were not able to swim or enjoy the beach for the majority of our stay. The sand and water had red algae/seaweed in it and it had a strong odor. Walking along the beach….the other hotels and condos cleaned the sand for their guests. Not the case at the JW Marriott. I was shocked that a hotel making millions of dollars can’t even clean the sand for its guests. Second, the hotel is packed with locals and conference people. It is chaotic and noisy. They offer day passes and there is no minimum stay required. On the weekends the pools were packed with people and there were no chairs available except for the front row chairs that cost $25 a day per chair. Really, charging people for front row pool chairs is obnoxious. It should be first come first serve. 1/3 of the chairs are reserved. If you want to order a drink at the pool there is an automatic 20-22% tip added to everything you order. At the beach, if you want a seat in the front row and want to actually look at the ocean….you have to pay $300 for a cabana or $30 a chair. So my daily $90 in “resort fees” got me back row chairs….if I could even find them. Again at the beach an automatic 20-22% tip is added to anything you order. I purchased a bottle of Gatorade one day from the beach restaurant freezer and it was $9. Third, the hallways were noisy in the evenings. It sounded like kids running through the hallways. One evening, someone put a glass on our door handle. When we opened the door in the morning, glass shattered everywhere inside our room and in the hallway. Not a funny prank…our children could have been injured and cut by the glass. And fourth, a child pooped in the pool when it was packed and the pool had to be shut down. So we couldn’t swim in the ocean and we couldn’t swim in the pool. We were hoping that the JW Marriott would be a vacation spot we would come back

30-40 years ago, I would never stay anywhere except Marriott. It was synonymous with immaculate hotels at a fair price. But I feel Marriott has lost its way. The hotels are getting run down, and they surcharge you to death. This JW Marriott is an example. When I travel JW Marriott I expect top of the line. But I felt like I was at Disney where you pay a steep price to get in and everything is extra. Five hundred bucks a day, and then there is a fifty dollar a day mandatory resort fee. But the resort fee doesn’t even guarantee you a seat at the pool. 1/3 of the seats are 40 bucks each a day, as they are “premium seats. Had a hard time finding a seat. Crazy. I’m used to complimentary coffee at the front desk in the morning, but no, you gotta pay $5 for a cup of Joe. The daily resort fee gets you a beach umbrella, and a couple of beach seats, that’s it. You want to use the fitness center. There is a tiny one that’s free, the larger one is extra. The rooms are clean, but dated. My shower was lukewarm, and the towels were worn and scratchy. You want your park your car? Self parking is across the street, and was 40 a day, it was full. Valet parking is 50 a day. Hotel staff was friendly, but they really really want to sell you a time share. On the plus side, the resort is huge and nicely landscaped. Staff is friendly, but overworked, maid service was no show one day, 6 and 8 PM on two other days. The Breakfast buffet is reasonable at 40 per person, and it’s impressive, food and service were very good, I ate most of my meals across the street, DaVinci is superb Italian food. Marriott used to be my favorite hotel chain. Now I try to avoid it.

If you are looking for a quiet, romantic or luxurious time at the beach, look somewhere else. The place is crawling with children, and I don't mean teenagers, i mean infants and toddlers. I live near Orlando and i have never seen any hotel so filled with children. screaming and yelling and running through the halls. It was worse than a day care. At the beaches, the restaurants and the pool. Basically, the resort has a built in Dave and Busters - called 10k alley. An arcade and bowling alley. really in a JW resort on a beach??? The food at the restaurants was terrible and way overpriced. There is one restaurant named Tesoro that has an identity crisis. It's suppose to be an italian / Mediterranean mix. but it is more like middle eastern. Never thought i would see fettuccini and Falafel on the same menu. The housekeeping staff starts on the floors making noise, banging doors, rolling carts and yelling as early as 7:30 am. really how about giving guests time to sleep in the morning. The walls and doors are made of tissue paper, you hear everything, everywhere. I can here the people next door playing board games with their children. Costs $100 a day to park your car and resort fee. The resort fee covers basically nothing. Beach chairs and internet. Never been to a beach resort that charges for beach chairs or tried to make you think they are included in a fee you should not have to pay for. The linens and pillows were awful. My pillow was worst then a pancake. See picture Overall terrible place. run as fast as you can.
