What an incredible gem this place is. If you can get a room with a view do it !!! It’s in the middle of everything yet it’s private enough to make you feel you’re in the middle of nowhere. You must try the award winning gelato place! The restaurants are amazing the the exploring is great. There’s a park on top by the tower. Amazing picture spot.

Villa Castiglione is located on one of the hills surrounding Florence, it is a peaceful and quiet place surrounded by villas and vines. Converted monastery now features artistically decorated interiors. Rooms are just spacious enough for a lovely stay, with ensuite modern bathroom. It is as seen on photos, clean and the staff speak English - even though they appear a bit slow and bored, they were friendly and very helpful, as well as offering advice on travel. Parking is free on the premises but be prepared for narrow windy road to reach the place. Breakfast has enough variety, but don't expect healthy options, it is generally pastries, yoghurt, cereal and eggs. Great coffee, as this is Italy, of course. Dinner is officially served from 7.30 but nobody started serving until 8pm and the menu is rather limited, lacking simple options for tired travellers such as soup or salad - and it was expensive, considering value for money. All in all, this was a great find and we can recommend the Villa.

We stayed at the hotel a couple plus a little boy plus a baby. Quiet hotel in a central location. Very rich and delicious breakfast. Amazing staff, would like especially mention Antonella and Alicia who were lovely to us and especially to our little boy Daniel. Highly recommended hotel

Piccolo delizioso hotel in un antico palazzo nel centro di Colle Val d'Elsa. La posizione consente gite nei dintorni ma anche bellissime passeggiate nel cuore storico della cittadina. Di sera i dintorni offrono occasioni per cene e aperitivi. Le camere sono ampie e pulite, molte hanno le finestre sulla valle sottostante, con panorami da sogno. Il servizio è sollecito(ci hanno prontamente cambiato un phon rotto), la colazione è varia e abbondante, molto gradita l'acqua gratuita in camera . Consigliato per chi viaggia in famiglia e ama gli ambienti intimi e raccolti .

Greve in Chianti is the soul of Chianti region and heart of Toscana. At least for us. We have spent quite many summer holidays on the Tuscan hills and by the winyards during years. Now we wanted to refresh our memories while staying in Firenze. Luckily the Albergo was open, and not only that, it had gone through a change that appeared to be a success - new restaurant, interesting menu, tasty wines and cosy rooms. The staff was as friendly as fifteen years ago and the heated pool great to swim even in the end of October. Very relaxing hotel and in Greve You can find all you need to know about Chianti wines.
