Hotel Sainte Jeanne

It would be unfair to fail to mention how beautiful and well maintained this property is. I had stayed in the hotel years back and I decided to return. I have the opportunity to visit my family only once a year, and I treasure being able to share every minute that I can with them when I do. My 84 year old mother and sister accompanied me to check in at the hotel wile we waited for my brother to dine at the hotel’s restaurant. When walking out with my sister to buy some groceries, it was a great surprise to hear Magdalena, the concierge, with a very rude, and matter of fact tone, advise me in front of my family that we are not allowed to receive visits in the room, and my mother and sister needed to leave. We explained that they were not staying overnight, and we were shortly getting ready to dine at the hotel’s restaurant, only for her to reiterate it was hotel’s rules, and mentioned that if they decided to come back, they would not be allowed in through the lobby by the bellman. For work reasons, I’ve had the privilege at St. Regis, Faena, Ritzs, 1 Hotels, and many others all over the world, but I’ve truly never been treated this way, even less in front of family, or heard or such a rule. It was a disappointed and very avoidable poor experience in what would otherwise have been a very enjoyable stay.
