I would like to express my gratitude to management. What a stunning hotel: FRIENDLY, superb staff that is always there for your needs. CLEAN, rooms are very clean always done and tidy according to how you moved it on your stay. PEACEFUL, always quite really a place to relax after a hard day of work. They got a small gym, a cool pool, and def a super friendly staff. My experience was great it's the second time I am here, the manager is always there to greet you which shows a lot of respect, the reception ladies are superb, always assisting you with care. The food and beverage manager, due to covid they add a smaller portion of breakfast he asks me if I needed something to eat and guess what, next morning got what I wanted. The restaurant ladies and chef, they are just so good. I RECOMMEND this hotel, for a limited crazy covid they are very good.

Booked in by my company on a layover in Maputo. When we checked in we were told the elevator was broken and our rooms were on the 11th floor !! Room was was very shabby. Broken window, mould in the bathroom, broken wall sockets NO toilet paper. Not worth the $83 charged for the over night stay and in fact would never stay here again. WiFi was terrible and hardly able to connect. Would not recommend this place, nothing in this place relates to VIP !!! Avoid it.

The best and possibly the most expensive hotel in the area, with relatively large rooms and the seaside.

We had booked this before colleagues of mine in Maputo recommended other hotels. The hotel is clean, secure, and quiet, and the front desk staff were great. Location is reasonably close to the business districts and there is a grocery store next door. The rooftop bar is OK, though in a city with a lot of great views, it is nothing special. The breakfast was pretty dismal, and given how difficult transportation can be in Maputo if you don't have a driver, the staff could have been more helpful in that regard: they called a driver to take us to dinner but then left us to negotiate the price. In Portuguese. If your transportation is covered and this place is cheap, go ahead, but otherwise there are better places in town.

We have read the other reviews on this hotel and wonder which place they stayed - different hotel from us? Firstly the staff. We only speak English and had no problem whatsoever communicating with the staff -with whom we interacted on many levels. When we arrived our booking was not evident - it was booked for us less than an hour before by our insurance company. Two gentlemen sorted this out and I was shown me to our room. I was very impressed. Admittedly it did appear that we had been given a free upgrade but nonetheless it was very nice. Yes there are a lot of light switches but they are not that hard to figure out. The balcony was indeed a bonus. We had to spend a lot of time in the room as I had just come out of hospital after an unplanned operation on my ankle following an accident and we were waiting for flights home to be arranged. We stayed at the Gloria for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought that the choice of food for breakfast was excellent. Obviously we only sampled small parts of the menu but there was an extensive choice. Maybe we have bland taste as suggested by others but we thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese food in the restaurant. We ate one night at the Italian restaurant next to the shopping centre behind the hotel. This was also nice. I was unable to access the shower in our room properly due to my injury and asked for a plastic garden chair or similar. The lovely lady on reception arranged for a chair to be sent up. I said it was not suitable as it was too grand and would be ruined if it became wet. I was told it was a ”small sacrifice to make for a guest”. Exceptional customer service. In the end we managed to use the chair without getting it wet by using bin liners over it but the sentiment that it did not matter if I ruined the chair was greatly appreciated. We have absolutely no negative comments to make about the staff. High praise from us. Thank you.

After I moved in, I found that the provided Wi-Fi can only connect to two devices. If there are more, they can’t connect. I called the front desk and they immediately found a way to get another account and returned it to the room. , Teach me how to use. I had a wonderful stay in Montebelo Indy Maputo Congress Hotel. It is like living in a nice and quite village in the major city Maputo. Although the gym and the pool were closed due to Covid restrictions, the hotel succeeded in maintaining some part of their entertainment program: they have a very nice SPA and professional hairdresser services with friendly personnel. Following the Covid measures: I was very comfortable with their hygene policy and the way they put this in practice. Their hygene standards are comparable with or even higher than the ones of a 5 star hotel in Maputo. The hotel also maintains a high level of security, the rooms are nice and well maintained and the breakfast was very good. In short: if I would ever return to Maputo I book again a room in this hotel.

As a family we stayed at the Polana recently . It was an uplifting,enjoyable experience for all of us from the youngest (3) to the oldest . The hotel is truly a grande dame in sparkling condition .The staff are super obliging and the chef and his staff excel. Highly ,highly recommended

This homestay is hidden in the alleys in the city of Maputo, the sign is very small, if you don't pay attention, you will miss it. The bathroom is large, but the bath water temperature is difficult to control, sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold, I hope the boss can improve this problem.
