Wasserturm Hotel Mannheim

Reception not occupied on arrival in the afternoon, although according to the website check-in was possible from 2 p.m. So had to call to come in and they gave me a code for the key box. Wanted to pay right away because of very early departure the next morning, which was complicated accordingly. In the bathroom the faucet was in the basin (photo) and not even a toothbrush cup available.

I had to go to Mannheim on business and was looking for a cheap room for 3 nights. I wasn't expecting luxury for the price. Even with my low expectations, I quickly realized that I should get out of here quickly. The reception was almost never manned, when I arrived I had to make several phone calls and use a key safe to find my way to the room. It is a very old, noisy, dirty and uncomfortable building. My room smelled very strongly of mold, there were huge dark spots on the floor, mold on the door frame, stains on the bed sheets and even weird blood looking stains on the room wall. I have attached pictures. Nothing for weak nerves. More than one bad night was unbearable and I had to change hotels the next morning. I was only reimbursed for one night as I was late in finding someone at the hotel reception. It's not worth saving here! Do yourself a favor and stay away!
