There is a TON of remodeling going on here... new carpet and appliances in room. Good sized fridge and microwave. Very close to downtown manistee and beautiful view of the lake and historic ship from hotel on one side and woods on the other.. we stayed with our dog which is an extra fee but still worth it/affordable overall. I'm curious to see the end results of this place! I only did 4/5 because the older parts of the hotel are a little rough to look at but again the rooms are great.

Heart-shaped Jacuzzi was the cutest thing.Very Romantic. It was a nice hotel, The breakfast was ok, And the staff was very friendly Rooms were clean. We did not use the pool and did not go in the pool area so Not exactly for sure how that was. Outside was pretty clean but it also was off season

Our room and bathroom was clean. The bed was comfortable with clean, crisp white bedding. The breakfast consisted if scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties & 2 pancakes with syrup. However, the tea was VERY weak. It was pre-made. BUT the sunrise is worth it all

This place is high in price but very cheap in accommodations 2 towels per room it looks as if they only clean the bathroom and make the beds. Due to COVID-19 you can pick from three small options for breakfast that they provide everything else you have to pay for. If at all possible spend a little more or drive a little further.

Pool turned my hair green! But thats not even the worst part! When I went to the front desk just to tell someone i was calm and collect until i met DEB. Deb the pool lady? (I hope she wasn't a manager but judging by the bugs in our room I wouldnt be surprised) Deb was immediatly defensive and said it couldnt be from their pool it had to be something I did...she then tested chemicals and showed me there was almost no presence of chlorine in the pool ( a problem in its self!) I began getting agitated assuring her I didnt care what the chemical test showed. I just wanted to let her know her pool turned my hair green. She was rude aggressive and even said "what do you want me to do about it? Its not our fault" I was and am visibly mad and becoming angry at this point I took Her name and said thank you. But not once was I told "sorry" or "I Will look onto this"or any other hint of proper customer service. I was only told I Could take care of it myself and it was from chlorine which their pool doesnt have....ps. Deb its not from chlorine it from improper chemical balance in the pool. Google it. So if you dont mind bugs, filtly rooms and green hair this hotel is great 😲

Oh gosh, where do I start. If I could give this place 1/2 a star, I would. The hotel is so run down, I thought the property was abandoned when I saw plywood covering parts of the windows. The interior is filthy with dirt, bugs and stray candy in all corners of the place. There was a dead mayfly smeared on the wall and a live one clinging to the curtains. The staff looks like they work carnivals on their off days. One was wearing an ankle tether. That's reassuring. The "deluxe" breakfast consisted of cheerios, some biscuits, powdered eggs and pancakes. Not enough to feed everyone. The next day, breakfast was supposed to start at 7:00, and by 8:00, there was no sign of anyone cooking. The only positive was that the rooms had new mattresses, linens and carpet. So if you are just looking for a place to rest your head, this would be fine. The only reason I stayed here was that the rest of my son's baseball team was here. I did not eat the free breakfast. Go to House of Flavors for that.

First of all, let me say that I am not a perfectionist when it comes to hotels. We knew with the price that this wasn't going to be a five star place, but we didn't expect it to be this bad. While the outside of this hotel doesn't look bad, the rest is terrible. The check in was fine. When we got to our room, there was a dirty towel and a bag of trash on the floor. The comforters and blankets are about 100 years old. The bottom of the pool is peeling and there were used band-aids and trash all around the outside of the pool. The back of the hotel is awful. The balconies are non-existent. You can't go outside on them because the railings have all fallen down or are in the process of falling down. Screen doors are half-off on some doors. We couldn't wait to check out in the morning.

Room okay, safe and clean. But run-down overall and obv cutting costs. No hot breakfast, it's just waffles and apologies. Watery oj, weak coffee, no hot plate. Nice location, off-season. Not much security in the outside building. Fine but some false advertising.

Didn't feel safe there. The outside door on the side of the building was not key coded (or locked) so anyone could enter the building. The swimming pool also was unlocked and open to anyone. I wouldn't think that would be safe for children. Our room didn't have a smoke alarm. The base was there but no actual alarm was attached to it. Breakfast was nice. Price was good. Rooms were clean and the staff was excellent.
