Pierre & Vacances Resort Terrazas Costa del Sol

We have just returned from a great holiday as a family of 4! The views from our apartment were incredible and my boys loved looking out at the boats and Gibraltar Rock. The apartment was clean and spacious, our towels and beds were changed on day 5 and day 9. The resort was high up on a rock front, which gave the views but also meant that that we were a fair distance from the shops etc. We hired a car as other reviews recommended and I agree that this is essential. The supermarket on site has some essential items as you arrive but I wouldn’t rely on this and you will probably need a bigger supermarket. The cooking facilities are functional but a bit limited. There is a hob, kettle and microwave. We managed to cook some lovely food but we definitely missed having a toaster for the mornings! A lovely welcome cleaning pack is left which includes cleaning cloths, dish soap, anti bac cleaner and some dishwasher tablets. Just take your own tea towel! There are two pools. One is adults only and the other for families. There was a queue each morning to get into the family pool area to reserve sun beds. If you went down later than 10 you were unlikely to get a spot. The atmosphere around the pool is lovely with a lifeguard on duty. There was occasional entertainment throughout the day to get involved with too! There is evening entertainment but we didn’t go to much of it. My son loved the pool party though! If you are looking for an escape from the busy world then this is really an ideal place to relax and have family time!

The hotel is located in the hills so the views are amazing! We could see The Gibraltar Rock from our balcony. We stayed for 11 nights, but the cleaning team only clean on the 7th day, we had to ask for fresh towels and toilet roll, I think a 3/4 day clean would be better. The Animation Tean are excellent, loads of different activities for adults and kids everyday, except a Tuesday. The quizzes and bingo are all done via your phone and great fun for all ages. Shout out to Sergio, who my son really liked! You do need to get taxis if you want to visit the other local towns, but it's only €10 and worth it to see Sottogrande, Duquesa and Estepona. The weather was lovely everyday, and perfect for pool fun and/or chilling with a book and a cocktail. Would recommend this hotel for families.

Our issue started as soon as we Arrived at hotel after a £180 euro taxi trip from airport! We arrived aprox 11pm to closed electric gates and no way to access the hotel entrance. Luckily our taxi driver was able to decipher what was left as an emergency number taped to the gate entrance. After numerous attempts and no answer we finally managed to get hold of someone to which he then told us he only worked on reception til 9pm and therefore we had to be talked through how to gain entry using the side gate to then access a safe for us to find the keys to our room!! This then started another issue trying to find our room on a massive complex in the dark with no one to ask was a nightmare in itself not to mention 3 kids in tow and luggage at midnight wasn’t ideal! The rooms are spacious and fairly clean but the complex was totally shut down! no shop no restaurant no nothing and in the middle of no where with only One person on reception dealing with the endless complaints. Need less to say we ended up hiring a car just to be able to get around as taxis just host a fortune as we were so far from everything. We were away for Xmas and this wasn’t what we expected. Everyday we had to track down the one person on reception as the gate fobs wouldn’t work and the room keys wouldn’t work!

Stayed here in May thinking it would be close to towns and shops NOWHERE near anything local and you are up a mountain basically. Nearest beach is 20 mins walk down the hill you came up to get to resort. And it is Ropey so don’t bother going! Says free shuttle but that is a lie. Unless you’re driving a car yourself it will be expensive for trips back and forth to places esp the airport as it’s ages away!! Don’t believe the hotel airport taxi fairs they tell you as once you arrive at your destination the taxi driver will try charge extra as goes per mile/km. Not a set fee as thought! Closest place to shop etc/ have anything to do was Gibraltar had to uber it. Which to be fair wasn’t overly expensive but not ideal. The resort has one minimart with limited items in it. Ok Buffett on site but again food alright. Place is beautiful but wouldn’t go back ever.

absolute disgrace of resort. myself and my partner were due to spend 11 days here (still supposed to be out there) but we didn't even stay here 24 hours. nothing open, no bars, restaurant, pool, the "mini market" is the end of the reception counter. which is only open for a few hours each day. the room is a disgrace, cabinet doors hanging off, inside the fridge is rusted away, walls all dirty and grubby. looked nothing like seen online. tried to raise our concerns with a member of staff and all he could do was shrug his shoulders. hight of ignorance. we asked was manager around, said, yes. Complete lack of customer care. we will not b returning to this resort. AVOID AVOID AVOID
