Hotels near Kaisa Angelo King Heritage Center in Manila

During my recent 3-day, 2-night stay at Swiss-Belhotel Blulane in Manila, the overall experience left much to be desired. While the hotel had potential, the importance of providing quality service to guests seemed inconsistent. Firstly, there was a noticeable discrepancy in the service provided by the on-the-job trainees. While some displayed genuine warmth and eagerness to assist, others seemed hesitant, particularly when they perceived that a guest might not offer a tip. This attitude detracted from the overall guest experience and contradicted the essence of hospitality, which should prioritize genuine care and assistance regardless of gratuity. Additionally, the functionality of the elevators was a significant inconvenience. With only one elevator in operation, guests frequently experienced delays and overcrowding, resulting in frustration and inconvenience. This issue significantly impacted the efficiency of guest movement within the hotel and should be addressed promptly to enhance overall satisfaction. In conclusion, while this hotel in Manila has potential, there are notable areas for improvement, particularly in ensuring consistent and genuine guest service and addressing operational inefficiencies such as elevator functionality. By instilling in all staff members, including trainees, a genuine commitment to hospitality and service excellence, the hotel can elevate the overall guest experience and distinguish itself as a premier destination for travelers.

Comfortable and clean accommodations. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, common areas, and amenities. Ensure that the rooms are well-maintained and equipped with comfortable bedding, furniture, and necessary amenities. Streamline the check-in and check-out process to minimize waiting times for guests. Provide clear instructions and assistance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Within the walls and historical area, to visit the historical places. The breakfast is reasonable and is served on the top floor so the view is good. Additionally, it has a restaurant and night bar on the roof that is very busy and has a good atmosphere. The rooms do not have all the maintenance and cleaning details of a 4-star hotel, but it is reasonable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good hotel in the heart of intramuros, excellent as a starting point for visiting the city

The place is pretty clean. Tha staffs and are very approachable and accommodating. I genuinely enjoyed my stay there.

This hotel is under management of a grander Manila Hotel. Rooms are large and modern, the servgice ipeccable, and breakfast is great. It also has a very good Chinese retsuaryrant. Curiously, it does not have the bar. I stayed two months until it closed due to covid. It is only about ten minutes walk form large SM shopping centre . Highly recommended

Location wise, super accessible to restaurants. Near a church and near to nearby tourist spot. The room is bigger than usual. There's a workspace where you can do your work properly. The comfort room is also big which I like since the bathtub is separate from the shower.

It’s good as usual. Their service is still good, their room service is still generally decent, breakfast is still buffet. Although, this New Year’s visit their buffet spread wasn’t our favorite. Just be aware though that their deluxe rooms aren’t published here in Trip.com most of the time. So we just had to upgrade at the hotel into two queen beds for ₱1500 per night since our room upgrade was not into the renovated side as I requested a carpeted room and bathtub for the safety of my children. I think it’ll cost more like ₱2,500 or ₱2,800 for upgrade into the renovated deluxe rooms. The renovated rooms however do not have carpets in them.

We came to the hotel at around 2:30 PM and when we checked in, we were told that only 2 of our 3 rooms were ready. When we passed by the room, we saw the cleaner on her cell phone and not “cleaning.” For my room, it didn’t look like it was cleaned properly. The floors were a but wet. The table surfaces were sticky. I had to call housekeeping 3 times because my toiletries were incomplet, including their bath gel (refillable). For the bed and pillows, some of the pillows were so overused. They were no longer comfortable. But room size was good for a junior suite. There was a living room and a dining table. 1.5 bathroom. Hotel is right beside lucky chinatown mall so it was really convenient. Very close to binondo. We chose to ride the tuktuks instead of walking because the rides were conveniently available to us in front of the hotel. We ate at the one restaurant of the hotel. Food was good, however, you have to come here when you are not hungry and you have to be really patient. Our order started coming 40+ minutes after we ordered. They were coming one at a time. Again, you need patience.

I got to stay here because I'm ordered to follow protocol entering the country. I have to be quarantined for couple of days. However, I encountered couple of issues that I think I need to address with. 1. When my flight was cancelled I wasn't given the opportunity to reschedule my date of arrival. Imagine how exhausting it is after a long flight to call agency after agency to get another connecting flights. I had to call to reschedule/cancel swab testing coz of the cancelled flight. I had to call the hotel in manila (RedDoorz near Quiapo Church) to bypass and to consider rescheduling the date of my arrival because it was so hard to get connected with an agent over the phone but it wasn't granted. So I ended up paying a night of a room without even staying in there. 2. The front desk who checked me in was rude, not even helpful at all. I asked her when I checked in if there's a WIFI. She said its in the back of my key. When I got to my room. I checked the back of my key. It's a combination of number. I know I'm not blind but it never goes through. I called her and she said that's the only password she could give me. I called her again in an hour and she keeps saying the same thing so I gave up since its 2 in the morning and I just decided to fix everything tomorrow when I wake up. 3. I called the front desk about the same issue from the evening. They said the WIFI password is only located at the back of my room key. And they said they will try to look for something else and will call me back. 2 hours passed nobody called me. I had to go downstairs regardless I'm on 'quarantine' because no one seems to be helpful at all. Caught them laughing and chitchatting in the lobby when I'm struggling to get access to WIFI to settle some things to do with appointments etc. A nice lady came to my room and help me access the WIFI. It was quick. I asked her how she did it, She said there's a different WIFI password the management just happen to change it long ago and the password at the back of my key is so outdated. So I was speechless. From the night to the afternoon I was told the same thing that it was just at the back of the key. 4. I noticed 2 small cockroaches in my room which I don't really find it disturbing but for a business a running a hotel its a big NO NO NO. 5. My second night was horrifying. I woke up in the middle of the night and felt something was crawling in my back. I was too tired and sleepy to care for it. About a couple of minutes my oranges that was just sitting in the table fell out from the plastic bag. I find it strange but I was damn tired. Later this morning I found out that there's a rat bite in my orange, my cheez whiz and even the soap that I placed in the bathroom sink had a bite on it. I called the FD and someone came in to my room. I was shocked to be asked by a guard to check if there's a visible hole anywhere in my room. He told me that how would a rat came in to my room when its all closed. I'm assuming he is not think
