Attended as a yoga group from the UK. Disappointed that we were sold a 4* package but this was simply not the case. Worn towels, threadbare sheets. Dirty bathroom, plaster coming off the walls. The spa area is under renovation and not open. There is extensive building work going on around the complex so can be noisy at times. Some of the pictures are outdated and the retreat is run down in parts. The location is lovely though and the beach is clean. Some nice parts to the complex but definitely not worth what we paid. There are other nicer places to stay in the area.

Absolutely beautiful location,kind and ready to assist staff ..yoga was bliss experience teachers are amazing as I tried multistyle yoga ...food and rooms breath taking ...I love the space ...I felt home and I am going to come back again and again ......and also must try the continental food absolutely delicious...❤️❤️

My first time in India, Goa, and Nalanda Retreat, Mandrem. I was very impressed by the kindness, gentleness and family atmosphere at the above retreat. I was very tired when I arrived but the staff made me feel relaxed and welcome. The rooms are beautiful, the food is fresh and the staff are so willing to please and help. I loved this place so much that I rebooked for a February yoga retreat. I also want to mention how professional, caring and nurturing the yoga teachers are. I feel as if I am visiting family now when I go back to Nalanda retreat, Mandrem, Goa.

I can highly recommend a Yoga package also during monsoon season, because… - you will receive the most regal treatment from the entire friendly staff, everybody has time for you and is eager to make you happy - the amazing yoga teacher team will also have a lot of time for you and will focus on your individual needs and preferences, I enjoyed several private lessons being the only guest - the rooms are pretty and cosy and during monsoon season you might even get an upgrade - if you booked half board you‘ll be allowed to eat à la carte (no buffet) during your entire stay and choose your preferred dishes - the rain usually doesn’t last long and its sound is very soothing. The whole atmosphere is laid back, which will help you to unwind - The extensive grounds offer many opportunities and comfortable corners to enjoy the lush nature and watch birds, squirrels or butterflies - if you come in September you might experience the Chaturthi Festival, with dance, music and intriguing insights into how Indians worship Ganesha during 10 days. I booked the Yoga & Ayurveda package for 10 days, it helped me to become confident with postures helpful for my alignment, so now at home I can stick to daily exercises. As woman traveling alone I was grateful for the attentive and warmhearted groove throughout the resort, its home away from home, you feel safe, taken care of and can relax. Thank you ❣️

Nalanda is literally paradise in every way. The surroundings are like the garden of Eden.. The peace and quiet, the jungle, pools, grounds and yoga facilities are like a dream. You can walk to the beach in a couple of minutes to watch the stunningly beautiful sunsets .or The staff goes above and beyond to make your experience tailored to your needs and desires. The staff are like friends immediately and help you orient to the place and where to go and what to do. They're wonderful and will take great care of you.

i came to nalanda retreat in mandrem for a yin yoga teacher training in mandrem. the teacher, alex, from yin yoga therapy was great! alex and the other teachers at the training are so knowledgeable, kind and experienced. we practiced in the beach shala. we had a beautiful view of the beach from the shala and were blessed with sunsets each night. there is extra props and mats. do bring mosquito spray because the mosquitos come out after sunset. one day a monkey came to practice with us :) I had a shared room below the shala. they clean once a week, but you can ask for additional cleaning, extra pillows, fresh towels/sheets, etc. the room was clean. do expect a minimalist room - only what you need. as part of the training package, we ate at the restaurant. they served vegetarian food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. they also offered ginger tea and chai throughout the day. i found the food yummy and nourishing. the only thing is that there is never enough roti during meals— they are so popular :) filtered water is offered at the shala and at the restaurant. bring a water bottle so you don’t have to run around with cups. overall, everyone was kind, welcoming, and accommodating. i would come again to nalanda.

If you’re looking for a peaceful paradise, Nalanda is the perfect hotel. Our stay here was beautiful. Staff was very nice, particularly Om that made us feel like home. Rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. The yoga classes with ocean view are the perfect way to start the day, followed by breakfast. We ate in Chia, the beach front restaurant, and food was delicious. I hada Thai curry, which was really tasty, every dish is well made and not spicy if you ask for it. The beach is pristine, not crowded and clean. Don’t hesitate to come here, you’ll have a lovely stay.

I came here for the yoga retreat organized by our teacher from Bishkek. Location is nice and quiet, beach is 3 minutes of walk from the room. I enjoyed it. Rooms are clean, there is air condition that can save you from the heat. There is also a cool pool in the hotels area. There are some shops, bike rent, taxi services, fruits and vegetables shops nearby. This place is not so far from Arambol beach, so it's quite a nice location. The food is super delicious, I haven't tried a lot of indiane cuisine before, but here all the meals were extremely tasty.

Nalanda is a beautiful yoga retreat venue with brilliant yoga teachers. Great accommodation, delicious food and everything worked so smoothly. Also very close to beach which is a lovely place to go for a walk or watch the sunset.chia lounge have great food thanks team Nalanda 🙏👍
