I recently stayed at the Britannia Hotel in Manchester and wanted to share my thoughts. Location: The location is definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points. It’s super accessible to all forms of transport, whether you’re arriving by train, bus, or tram. It’s right in the city center, so you can easily explore Manchester without much hassle. Parking: The parking arrangement is convenient if you’re driving, especially with free parking between 8 pm and 8 am. Outside of those hours, you’ll need to pay, so keep that in mind if you’re staying for longer stretches. Hotel Condition: This is where the hotel shows its age. The building is very old, and while it has some charm, it could definitely use an upgrade. You can feel the wear and tear in the common areas and some of the rooms. Rooms: The rooms are a mixed bag. The basic rooms are just that—basic. They’re not particularly comfortable, and if you’re picky about where you sleep, you might feel underwhelmed. However, if you go for one of the upgraded rooms, the experience is much better. Those rooms feel cleaner and more inviting. Breakfast: Breakfast is a solid deal at just £9. It’s not a luxury spread, but it gets the job done. You’ll find the usual options for a budget-friendly hotel breakfast. Staff: The staff are a highlight of the hotel. They’re very kind and helpful, making you feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Value for Money: Overall, this is a budget-friendly hotel, so you do get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a no-frills place to stay in a central location and don’t mind the dated vibe, it works. However, if comfort and modern amenities are a priority, you might want to explore other

I will say you get what you pay for. It’s clean, comfortable and does a decent breakfast. Plus the central stair case and lobby is beautiful. If great for the amount you pay. Location is great too. Plenty of restaurants and bars close. So close to China town. Never disappointed staying here.

BAD BAD BAD this hotel is nothing but a disaster. Well first off, the hotel is old and creepy, I paid about £80 per night and I had the worst experience here. No free wifi in the room, are we living in 2000? The door man (black, big guy) was so RUDE for no reason, he asked for our room card, understandingly, we provided. He then asked for our room number, we said we don’t remember but know where our room is, he then told us to go to the front desk to confirm our identity, rudely. I said I even have a picture of our room and he said he doesn’t care. So I talked to my bf and said that’s *****, the bouncy came running up to me and demanded an apology for calling “him” *****, so I just said sorry cuz I felt threatened. It was a mess. Idk who he thinks he is but we’re the customers, we paid money to stay here, we deserve to be treated with respect. *****, unacceptable behavior. I do not recommend.

This hotel is housed in an old building with thick brick walls, making mobile phone reception nearly impossible. I suspect this is why the hotel charges an excessive amount for Wi-Fi. In this day and age, Wi-Fi should be free, especially since mobile networks can’t reach due to the building's 17th-century construction. Because of this, I’m giving the service one star, as it's disappointing that guests aren't provided with a reliable way to connect with the outside world. However, if you don’t mind limited connectivity, the hotel is habitable and conveniently located near the town and amenities. I also found it disappointing that there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, making it difficult to clean up properly.

It was a beautiful room facing Piccadilly square ! When I ordered , it said no windows but we had two giant ones and a beautiful view. The ceilings had cracks and whatnot but for the price and the location, who cares about these things? Comfy bed and helpful staff. Also beautiful decoration for Halloween and Christmas.

Location, location and location! The location of the hotel is excellent – just a 30-second walk from Piccadilly Gardens, which is an easy walking distance from Piccadilly Station as well as Victori Station. The hotel is situated just in the CENTRE of the centre of Manchester. The interior of the hotel’s public areas is also very gorgeous, and a twin room I stayed was spacious and comfortable. However, the building itself seems quite old and the windows are not double-glazed. Therefore, I tend to think that it would be rather cold in the room in winter. It would be ideal if the breakfast started at 7:00am, instead of 7:30am on weekdays. I actually had to give up full English breakfast, unfortunately, because I had to catch a train just after 8:00am. For guests who stay in the hotel on a business trip, having breakfast at 7:00am would be nice, as it gives them plenty of time in the morning before going to work.
