I have stayed at lots of travelodges. This was undoubtedly the best the food was really good. The access to the hospital was excellent. The staff on security, bar reception,.and cleaning were all very very friendly and efficient. The only downside was that I had to book online to extend by stay. They could not do it at reception. Overall a very enjoyable stay

There was a problem with the toilet and the fan in the bathroom . The team said they would fix it but after two nights they failed to do so. There was no hot water on our first morning. This was fixed for the second morning. If you like marmalade for breakfast bring your own - it is not available in the hotel.

I was met by a lady called Honey at the reception, she was so preffosional and helpful. She was so forthcoming and easy to talk to that i felt home and not judged by the so many questions i was asking since it was my first time in Manchester..she located my appointment place and even booked me a taxi that took me the following day..I was so amazed by her service that the following day i thought every one acts the same,i asked a different person at reception to also book me a taxi for the next day she hesitated and gave me the taxi number to call..imagine am foreign my Uganda network cannot make any calls so sad..but anyway back to Honey, please give her my flowers for an excellent job well done.

Great value for money. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and there was a good selection for breakfast Here for an op at the eye hospital and they even had a dedicated fridge at reception for meds. Thank you to Iona for being so helpful and cheerful.

The staff at the bar cafe are the most helpful and friendly people. We came for breakfast by itself and it was a wonderful experience. Suchada in particular showed incredible hospitality. She was able to cater to our needs and came to check on us regularly.

Only went for breakfast, Ming made our whole day. Best service in the whole of manchester. He was kind, welcoming and attentive. He checked up on us regularly and made us feel special without being too much. Would 100% come back just for his service alone!

Rooms are average, food is what you pay for although staff are very accommodating. I was in recently recovering from hospital and the bar man Alex made me feel welcome and was easy to talk to and very attentive. It might be just another travel lodge but the staff here is what makes it special

Lovely Hotel in a great location. I was checked in By Anwar who was training. He was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed about the hotel. The next day in the restaurant I was served by Patrick who made me a pepperoni pizza. He told me they were both students from a near by College getting work experience. They were both very helpful and friendly and I am sure will have a great future within hospitality.

Noise is okay if you ask for a quiet room even with the window open (and also I went on a week night with no major concerts on nearby, which may have made a difference). Major problem was the room was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too hot. I had the window open as far as it could go, the radiator turned off at the wall, no sheets on the bed, and I was still boiling to death. I usually am the kind of person who is always cold (read: my hands are purple and I'm in at least two layers unless the weather gets over 20-degrees celsius), and I literally could not sleep (no, literally, I was awake the actual whole night) because I was so hot in the room. There is no fan in the room either. Other than that, it was clean enough aside from a few little spots here and there mainly ingrained into the carpet. Noise in the corridor was very audible but because it was a quiet night, I only ever heard people going in and out of their rooms a couple of times. Another criticism is that there are no water stations on each floor, so when I couldn't sleep and needed water to deal with the heat, I would have to get dressed out of my PJs, and go all the way to the ground floor to use the water machines there. I'm unsure if the taps in the bathroom were safe drinking water? It would be helpful if the hotel would be signs to confirm that that was the case - I know usually in the UK it is perfectly safe but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I think most of the complaints in other reviews are written that way because you are paying a ridiculous price for what is actually just your average TravelLodge experience. Realistically if this wasn't Manchester, the stay would cost no more than £35-40 a night, but unfortunately we are paying a premium which means all the poor quality components seem a lot worse.
