Excellent stay. Reception staff very friendly. The room was very clean. The bathroom with walk in shower was also clean with complimentary shower gel and soap. Daily cleaning if you request it in advance which is ideal. Sofa, small desk and chair in room. Television on wall opposite bed and no need to crick your neck like other hotels. Bed was comfy for me. Deposit paid on arrival is in the terms and conditions before you book so expected this. Will definitely book again.

On arrival we found that the room was absolutely filthy - shower cubicle and head full of build up of dirt, bin filthy and sanitary ware unclean. There were 2 nailheads protruding from the flooring, which posed a serious health and safety risk. The room was covered in dust and articles left by previous occupants were behind and under the beds, the worst being a fake eyelash covered in months build up of dust. On complaining to the receptionist we were offered another room, however without checking the cleanliness, when the door was opened, the smell of sewage was overpowering therefore this was not an option. The receptionist was shown the nailheads and in the absence of the maintenance person we asked for a hammer or screwdriver to make safe the flooring. We were told that if we did this it would be considered damage to the room!! We were given towels to place over the dangerous protruding nailheads. We were advised that housekeeping would complete a deep clean the following day. On returning that day we found that this had not been done. We complained again on the third day of our stay and were offered another room, however we had absolutely no confidence in the hotel by this time and decided that we would address the issues once home. On complaining to the hotel we were met with sheer indignence and denial of the wholly unacceptable state of the room, despite the photographic evidence. They advised that if we were dissatisfied with the room, we could have checked out and been refunded. This policy is totally ridiculous as a) it would take time for the refund to be processed, therefore we would have been out of pocket paying for alternative accommodation and b) there would be no guarantee of alternative accommodation being available in that area at such short notice. To add insult to injury, once home one of us has been confirmed as having numerous bed bug bites. Utterly disgusted with the whole experience and find it incredulous that a hotel would treat paying guests so badly. Our advice would be to anyone considering staying at The Ville Hotel - RECONSIDER - unless you are content to experience utter filth and come home with multiple bed bug bites…..

Me and my friend came to Manchester Sat 31 Aug and the staff (Emma) was AMAZING! She was so friendly Upton arrival, not only that when we had a problem with our room she immediately sorted it. Nothing was to much for her and Ville is lucky to have her! The hotels price is really good for its amazing location. Will be back!

We chose to bring children but - despite the staff being very friendly - this was not the most family friendly hotel. We knew it would likely be noisy but this came with the location, which we thought was more than fair for the budget price we paid. What we did not expect and made us feel unsafe, was the pair of soiled underwear left in the bathroom and unemptied bin which meant there was little space for us to dispose the dirty knickers.

Stayed here years ago, bang on Canal Street, asked not to be in basement and this was adhered to, Surprisingly quiet for such a location Staff fine, room size fine, bed comfy, no,issues at all . Nice shower. I simply choose whatever hotel is cheapest at time

The hotel is clean and in a good location but let down by its woeful wi-fi. I could not sign in. When I told the guy on front desk, he said, ‘Oh, that’s always happening - especially for Apple!’ He called a manager to ask if he could re-set their network but was told that he could’t. So, on a business trip, I had no chance to prep for my meeting. In this day and age, basic functioning wifi is essential - not providing it is akin to announcing they can’t supply running water. I suggest you avoid.

I paid upfront but was asked for an 'imprint' of my card at the desk, when I arrived. I only use my card on secure sites and pay in cash. I would not have booked, had I known I had to give an imprint (sounds like something that could be used to copy my card) When I said I was unhappy about this, the receptionist said I'd been sent the terms and conditions AFTER I'd paid. When I said I'd contact my bank, the receptionist said she hadn't taken an imprint, despite saying that, if she didn't take an imprint, she'd have to charge me a £100 deposit which would require her to put my card in a machine,. However, she had taken my card and clicked on it 2 times with her computer. Just after, a dodgy guy arrived and the blonde/ grey haired small man at reception said 'I've got it' and hurried out with him. I have a very bad feeling about this and want this experience recorded immediately. I will update, if any fraud is actioned against my account. To sum up, I only ever use my card to withdraw cash from inside my actual bank and to purchase online through verified and secure sites. I do not use it iin real life, where it can be copied - this is the first and only time my card has been used in a situation where this could happen.
