Was greeted by a unhappy front desk clerk and the stay went done hill from there. The hotel is in need of a lot of maintenance but I think the worst part of the stay were the 1/2 inch bugs in the room. When we brought it to their attention they acted like this is normal. No apology or concern.

Given the historical prestige of this property - I was shocked with how bad the service and entire experience of our stay was… from check in to check out (over 4 days) - it was one thing after another. And I can appreciate it was busy and they were short handed due to weather but at least try to make things work….improvise, offer alternatives and maybe smile at your customers just once. And to top it off - erroneous billing and charges that 6 weeks later are still unsolved is ridiculous…. There is no way this property should be listed on anyone’s must stay list. Totally not worth the money or frustration when you are trying to get away and relax….

The hotel was beautiful and the stay was great. The people were friendly. We had a massage at the Spa and it was amazing. We went to Marsh Tavern for dinner and the food was delicious. However, disappointed by our server, Oneillia. Wasn’t friendly or attentive. The next morning, we ate breakfast and had Paige as a server, who was delightful! Overall, I recommend staying here!

This hotel is nostalgic and an Icon in this town. it is a bit dated but we love the history. I stayed here in November while house hunting for a 2nd home and had a fabulous experience. However sadly when I returned on 2/11/25 for 1 night last minute due to a fight cancellation I was given an awful room right below the stair case. Room 245. It was a Harry Potter broom closet. Old, musty, poor air circulation, tiny, tiny windows, a constant annoying noise and a bed with a mattress that sunk in. I was so exhausted and it was so late I simply did not have the energy to call and change my room. I / we were beat ( we had a long day with our movers in our new home and then our flight cancelled from Albany ) I was beyond fatigued. Another issue was we checked in at 8:40 PM and the bar / food service was closing at 9PM. We ordered 2 cocktails and called it a night. The drinks were $25 each and terrible. The bar tender simply did not know how to make an expresso martini and a Manhattan. Again, too tired to complain at the moment as we just needed a bed and sleep. I wanted to complain directly to the General Manager but there is nowhere on the website to obtain his email so I sent an email through their online portal and also through their general email. 2 days later and still no-one from the resort has reached out to me to apologize or address my concerns. I had really hoped they cared enough to do so. I have friends that own Marriott franchises and shared my experience with them. They are shocked at the lack of customer care. Be mindful and voice your displeasure if you stay here right away otherwise you are a lost ship at sea.

We recently stayed at the Charles Orvis Inn at the Equinox Resort. It has deteriorated significantly. The fireplace was broken. Lights were out in the room and hallway. Housekeeping didn’t come until 4-4:30p. The furniture looked tired. It was disappointing. We came here years ago and had a lovely visit and were hoping to recapture some of that magic. But, alas—no such luck. I fear this may be our last visit.

I hate a bad review- I also hate people who come on here to over dramatically call out hotels unfairly- but here is the truth. The Equinox has declined over the past few years officially ending a family tradition. I don’t know what is going on but the floors were dirty, the staff was scarce, the pool heater was broken, there were no towels by the pool, understaffed, bathroom faucet leaking, housekeeping never came, fireplace not lit. I could keep going. We looked at the Taconic and we’ll be taking our annual tradition elsewhere and it makes me sad because we were loyal Equinox customers.

The hotel has two restaurants, The Chop House and The Marsh Tavern. On Saturday 2/1, neither restaurant would take reservations or seat any hotel guests as the hostess told us that the restaurants were “at capacity” for the night although just a single party of 12 was booked for the entire night between the two restaurants. We were turned away, as were other hotel guests. We ate elsewhere and when we returned to the hotel and walked past the restaurants at around 7:30 pm, there was in fact just a single party of 12 seated while the remainder of both restaurants was entirely empty. When we were turned away we were not made aware of any staffing or other unforeseen issues. The hostess offered no further explanation when asked but said simply that the restaurants do not have the capacity to seat more than 12 people on any given night. Very bizarre and not a good look for the hotel. It is disappointing that they would treat their hotel guests who have chosen to pay to stay at their hotel this way. If you choose to stay at the Equinox you may want to bring your own food or be prepared to eat dinner outside of the hotel.

Great hotel with great customer service.! Beds were super comfy and our room was clean and cozy upon entering. The spa was exquisite and the outdoor hot tub was delightful after a day of skiing. The hotel is close to surrounding three mountains. Restaurants at the hotel had great food and all staff were super pleasant! Great hotel for couples and families!

Went this past weekend and absolutely loved it. Great ambience and decor. Very good food at the tavern and drinks at the bar. Service was impeccable. Only 15-20 min away from ski resorts like Bromley. It is definitely a must stay in Manchester, VT.
