Great food and wonderful service. The place is oldie world vibe so inviting and the people are very friendly. The food is one of the best Sunday roasts we have ever tried. We were also welcomed with our new puppy who is a bit of a handful. Highly recommended.

Kind hosts, cozy place, cute room, really enjoyed, unfortunatelly only one night during our detour to Cotswold. Very good breakfast in authemtic restaurant, and a pint of pale ale the evening before. The rather loud fridge in the room did not disturb us as we were exhausted after an intensive day of sightseeing. So nothing to complain really :)

Food was 10/10, service was excellent and speedy and the waitress was lovely, knowledgeable (and honest!) about which things we might like based on our individual preferences. Really lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Would definitely come again!

We stayed for the new year, arriving on the 31st for 2 nights. It is a charming old building with the rooms equipped to a high standard. We had a wonderful evening welcoming 2025 celebrating with local people who were friendly and made us feel welcome throughout. There was a small problem with the hot water flow in our room with Kes the GM trying everything in her power to have this rectified, even having a tradesman on site on New Year's Day. Whilst it was not rectified during our sta, it did not detract from our visit. In fact, it gave us confidence that any problem is given a high priority and dealt with immediately. Many thanks to Kes, all the team and the many people we met during our stay

A pleasant and relaxing brewery owned pub and hotel in the southern end of the Cotswolds. Very good dinner and breakfast menu (particularly impportant because there are no other eating options in the village). Bar is frequented by the local farming community which adds to the rustic and cosy asmosphere. Staff are helpful. Plentiful parking. Being a very old property there are understandably some accessibility problems (e.g steep staircase and narrow corridors), the rooms are variable in size and have differing facilities.

Previously a very highly regarded gastro pubs but sadly deteriorated now it’s owned by Butcombe. Service was average, lacked any warmth or personality, no management presence. Dropped the brunch menu listed in the website - why? Food was ok but nothing special. Gents loo is via a very scruffy area. Pricing is slightly excessive for what’s on offer.

This is British hospitality at its very best. Charming manager Kes is welcoming and so friendly throughout as are her staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The pub is cosy and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and dined well . The pub is popular with the locals at which makes for a great atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Due to a bereavement I found myself needing to stay near Malmsbury, several times . I was made very welcome by all the staff members , Kes runs a lovely place to stay, nothing was too much trouble for all her team, the chef was very understanding of my dietary needs The bedrooms are very comfortable , clean , and had special little touches like homemade biscuits! The meals were extremely high quality , reasonably priced , hot and served within a reasonable time. I will be going back again soon and know I will be remembered and warmly welcomed . Thank you Kes for always being so kind and caring about my stay. 😊
