Meropi Hotel & Apartments

I am not sure how this hotel has managed to get 4•, we are only on our second day and it is probably the worst we have stayed in ( we have been to a lot) The all inclusive bar consists of Raki, ouzo and brandy, beer on tap and soft fizzy drinks, absolutely everything else has to be paid for, including fruit juice. Since being here the staff have been consistently rude and appear to be miserable. We are beginning to think that it may be in their contract not to say hello or smile. There’s no water supplied in the room, you are not permitted to fill anything other than a small plastic cup up from the water machine, if you attempt to fill up anything larger you will be shouted at by the staff, and told you must buy water from the shop but you are not permitted to drink it around the pool. When we arrived at 2pm the restaurant was closed, there is nothing other than some stale biscuits until 7pm. You can only get 2 drinks a time at the bar ( there are 3 of us) The towels and bedding is changed once every 3 days not including your first day, so if you are here for 1 week you will only have them changed once. As soon as we arrived we were charged £70 tourism tax, this is a lot more than usual. If you haven’t already booked, do yourself a favour and book elsewhere where! Thank goodness the sun is shining!.

Comfortable rooms. We stayed in a room that has private pool. This pool was cleaned regualry. The staff was friendly and charming. We found that the meals were tasty and enough for every one. They often filled up the food trays even just before the restaurant was about to close.

The hotel is a disappointment maybe a two star hotel at best. The amenities are poor. The room has spider webs, there is no wifi signal. The remote control for the TV was filthy. I waited one hour for the recwption host to turn on my AC. There is a heat wave happening. It is unacceptable. The walls and windows are paper thin so you hear everything outside. There is no relaxation here. The service is 1 star. There is no help. We asked for an upgrade, we would pay for it. We were denied. Only the owner could help us but the owner was "on vacation"....in August. I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the world, this is the worst one.

This is not a 4 star hotel, 2 or 3 at a push. The food is terrible, luckily next door there is a restaurant called anemi tavern - highly recommend going there the food is the best i’ve ever had! the staff in the hotel are miserable and no entertainment . The drink selection is pathetic if you don’t drink beer then you will have to face the harsh prices of the spirits behind the bar. The pools are great and the small water park is great too, it is just spoilt by the awful atmosphere from the staff. The location is spot on you are a small walk away from the beach, bars and the shops. My advice- book somewhere else.

We booked 1 week vacation here with full board. This is a Hotel apartment, hotel rooms is ok. Foods are also ok. Friendly staffs. The dining time is limited. It’s about 15mins to the bus station to Heraklion and Aghios Nikolaos. 10mins to the beach. There are many supermarkets, restaurants, bars on the main street.

Terrible hotel with terrible rules and false advertising. They call themselves all inclusive but it is not! Fake alcohol, limited choices , fake soft drinks! Food is buffet only. Even paying for AC is a thing here. Avoid this hotel at all costs! I wish them bankruptcy
