I will reiterate what others have said…check in is a 15 minute walk from the apartments. I booked through capital One and did t get anything for The hotel itself as far as confirmation or instructions. You also have to walk a distance to get to the apartments from where the taxi or Uber drops you off. So after lugging our bags through the crowded plaza we arrive at the apartments and there is nothing. No instructions or anything indicating where you check in. I got lucky and a family was just arriving to the same surprise as I was and spoke fluent Spanish. They were able to get directions to the reservation desk from the housekeeper so I followed them. Luckily my friend sat back and waited for me with the baggage and the housekeeper stowed the family’s baggage for them. Otherwise the walk to check I would have been horrible. It was already super inconvenient. When we arrived they had trouble finding my reservation. I booked through capital one and think that there was some translation error in the software. My booking was under something that wasn’t even a name. It took about 20 minutes to figure that out. Then we were told we had to come back at 4 pm. It was around 11:30 am at this point. I found a baggage storage location pretty close by, paid $26, and set off to kill 4.5 hours. When we arrived back to check in they couldn’t find the key to the apartment. I was told the housekeeper still had it and was bringing it. 4:20 she shows up with the key. So we walk the 15 walk back to the luggage storage, get our bags and head to the apartment. First impressions were that it was much bigger than I expected. I did notice the kitchenette counters still had crumbs on them and the bathroom smells horribly moldy. There is also no type of towel for the kitchen. No paper towels, no kitchen towel. So we took a towel from the bathroom for the kitchen. It is almost 5 pm at this point and we exhausted from walking around in the sun all day trying to kill time. I take the nasty throw pillows off the bed (one looks like a toddlers seriously loved stuffed animal with matted fur) and go to lay down. It was then I notice black hairs on the bed and on our bath towels. Hair is where I draw the line so I go to sit on the pullout sofa. It has also seen better days and is dirty in places. Nothing here feels clean to me. No view, noisy alley and very limited hot water. Also there is a Nescafé machine but no instructions. And it appears the fridge does not make ice. We have been traveling across Spain for three weeks and this has been the worst experience. There is nothing about this experience with Soho Boutique that has been even close to good. My suggestion is pay a little more and get a clean room. Run while you still can! Even if I had known ahead of time about the 15 minute distance between check in and location I would have opted to not do that. There is no incentive to have a 15 minute walk between you and the hotel reception desk. Ridiculous!

Wow what a location! Have stayed in various places in Malaga and this location right by the Roman Theatre is second to none. You have to pick up the keys in the hotel about 5 min walk away - no problem for us but worth bearing in mind. Apartment was huge and spacious and well equipped. Limited hot water but we just spread our showers out and were fine. Passageway outside apartment is a thoroughfare and noisy - we happened to be there the night of a Lent procession and drums and crowds were passing by even at midnight- and revellers even later. Nice to be in the hubbub, but noisy if a light sleeper. For us worth it for the location!

We're just back from a week's stay in these apartments. I will reiterate what others have said is that you need to go to the main hotel to collect your keys and not direct to the museo apartments - this is highlighted in your confirmation email, and will save you an additional 8min walk.... We checked in which was really easy and the receptionist Juan was lovely. Got our keys and walked across to the apartments, we were given room 1D. Opened the door and nothing like the pictures or description. The only natural light looked onto a square courtyard filled with metal pipes, was very claustrophic. We rang Juan and explained we had requested a room with a view and also the booking stated we would have natural light etc, anyway he looked into it and put a note to the morning receptionist to see if they could switch our room. The next morning we walked over to reception and were greeted by Isabel who again was amazingly friendly and also had managed to change our room to 2B. We had to wait for cleaning to do their magic and then we were called and could collect our new keys from the apartment from the cleaning staff. This room was amazing, three windows and balconies, amazing view, spacious and exactly what we had envisaged when booking. Facilities in the room are great, big shower room, with an amazing shower. Good coffee machine. Hob with plenty of pots, pans and utensils etc. Mugs aren't big enough so we did buy two big ones from the local Ale Hop which fitted in the coffee machine. Bed is so comfy with a good selection of differing firmness and you also have the option of a duvet, which we used as was cooler in the evenings. Room also had air conditioning. TV was good and you can log in to your own amazon prime and netflix if you want too also. What started as a massive disappointment, turned out to be exceptional which is down to Juan and Isabel. We would stay there again and would highly recommend. Just note room 1D is small and has no natural light if like us you get claustrophobic. 2A,B & C are fantastic though.

It was our first time to visit Málaga and our stay at the Soho Boutique Museo was absolutely the best! Cleanliness, proximity and the best part - really quiet at night! The place is very centric yet a bit far from where the nightlife happens. Best choice for a family with little kids. There's a Michelin star restaurant beside it too.. Would definitely book this place again next time!!!

My friends and I rented a studio apartment for a trip to Malaga. It was beautiful, the beds were super comfy and the room was well shirked from morning light by good curtains. The shower was strong and hot. We will definitely be back. My only criticism is that the wine glasses are very thin and fragile so be very gentle with them.

The room booked through Soho Boutique hotel in Malaga was great: super central location with breathtaking view on the castle. The apartment was clean and cozy with a huge, comfy bed! The location is super central with plenty of good restaurants right beneath the apartment- super convenient!

You start by collecting keys from a different location to the apartments, pleasant service from staff in the hotel reception. Deposit taken on credit card (£143 - personally felt this was steep for a one night stay in an apartment but it was refunded fairly quickly after checkout) 10 minute walk over to the apartment- I was aware of this prior to arrival, so no issues although it just delays your actual arrival into the apartment. The property itself was in a wonderful location, very safe as you have key access to both the apartment block and the apartment itself. Upon arrival I found the apartment to be extremely clean and well presented, and just as the photos had show. The view from the upstairs bedroom of the Roman Forum was excellent, with a lovely sunset. The downside - glasses etc lacking in numbers. There was one wine glass between four - walls were paper thin so I felt I was sharing in what seemed like a hen night in the next apartment, you could hear all conversation, screeches etc, thankfully it didn’t go on all night and finally, the most ridiculous rule of all, which only by chance I noticed when I read a the list of rules given to me at reception - you must take all your rubbish with you. No instructions on where to put it, where I may find bins. This needs to be made more clear. Would I stay again? Probably, the apartment was beautiful and in a fantastic location, I’d have to hope the neighbours were quieter . I’d also be aware of the rubbish bin situation so would take rubbish out every time I left the room.

Normally stay in hotels but as Malaga has so many great food markets this time we booked an apartment. Location was amazing, a quiet side alley next to the Roman ruins, round the corner from the Picasso Museum and the astonishing Cathedral. Great bed in the apartment, shower strong and living dining space was huge. All in all I would absolutely book this again.

Not a great experience: Cons: - Reception is 15 minutes away - The first night our apartment was double booked and they put us in a much worse apartment, no apology whatsoever - Apartment was full of dust and not really clean - Moldy smell from the bathroom due to lack of heating in the winter - Hot water is quite limited Pros: + good bed + good location
