Heleni Jessop's Fatahega

We had a very pleasant stay at Heleni Jessop's Fatahega. It was the most budget accomodation we've ever booked, however we were not disappointed. While it is very basic, and can do with a "deep clean", the location and the people were awesome. We were proud of supporting local, and didn't regret for one minute that we invested in activities, locals and restaurants, rather than being isolated in a more upmarket resort.

This is a four-room backpackers, good for people on a budget. All the rooms have keys so it felt very secure (and Niue is very safe, regardless!) It was a good central location, walking distance to bars and cafes as well as a beautiful little snorkelling beach. Our stay was perfectly comfortable, however quite a few things were broken for either the whole time we were there (four days) or for part of it, including: Hot water Microwave Washing machine Electricity (this was fixed quickly) Helena is very helpful and friendly, and did her best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Pre-trip communication was lacking and any we did receive was quite muddled, which meant a stressful few days prior to arriving. Note: payment is cash on arrival (no credit card or bank transfer).
