The room is quite small. Service is average. I received the email and was told all the necessary things. The external environment of the B&B is quite satisfactory. What I was not satisfied with was the bad smell in the room. Although I opened the window for ventilation for more than an hour before going to bed and kept the window open at night, there was still a smell of urine in the room all night. I hope it can be improved in the future.

I stayed in mid-November, in the Hibiscus Room, which was a separate cabin. I met Mika and he gave me a tour of the place and my accommodations. I also met Tammi later in the day. Both were very friendly and charming. The Hibiscus Room included a queen-sized bed, a dresser, side tables, a refrigerator, and a standing fan. There was also a ceiling fan, four sliding windows, and a private deck with chairs and a table that faced a working Pineapple Field. It also came with bath towels and a beach towel for the jacuzzi. The bathroom was a short walk to the main house but there were four shower rooms and four toilets. Breakfast consisted of oatmeal and coffee but I'm not a breakfast person. I'm good with a fiber bar and water. I stayed three nights and I think I was eventually the only one staying at the place. I did not use the outdoor shower or jacuzzi because it was a little cool in the late afternoon. I rented a car in Kona and drove to Peace of Maui. On the way, I stopped at Whole Foods and purchased a few meals to put in the refrigerator. Each morning I went to Haleakala and did a lot of hiking and was even able to get Sunrise Tickets! One day back, I stopped at Waikulu Distillery, which is up the street, to enjoy their Agave Spirits. Another day, I stopped at the little town of Makawao, which is on the way back from Haleakala, and walked around. So cute! Each eveningI would sit on the deck and enjoy my Whole Foods meal and marvel at the Sunset colors. Lots of birds. And the flowers and pineapples smelled awesome. My room had a little Gecko I named Gary who was more scared of me than I was of him and he hid behind the dresser. I hope he's okay! I really enjoyed my stay. I think next time I would stay in the actual house so I was closer to the facilities.

This is a very peaceful place! We enjoyed our stay and meeting other folks who were staying. This is not a typical Hotel or B&B experience...I liken it more as a Hostel type set up. There are several individual bedrooms within the building and the showers and restrooms are shared. There is a common area with a kitchen, and each room has a numbered (corresponds to your room number) cabinet that has mugs, silverware, and some treats as well as other items. There are a few outdoor areas with comfortable seating for just chillin out and relaxing. There is no specific "place" or person to check in. Check in is at 3 pm and there is a white board outside the main entrance that will have your room number assignment and your name. Each door has a cipher lock, but when checking in, the door IS NOT locked. The combo is taped to the back of the door so then you can lock it. We only stayed one night to visit Haleakala National Park, but we would stay here again! The hosts were very friendly and invited us up to their home and we chated for a while.

We had a delightful stay! We felt like we were staying in a corner of paradise. The facility was well maintained and welcoming. The owners were gracious, kind and helpful. Our stay was heaven sent. We would recommend "Peace of Maui" to family and friends!

I agree with other reviews that this is more of a hostel type environment than a B&B (could be hostile as well, since there was mold on the bathroom ceilings and cockroaches in the bedrooms). Texted the owners a couple of times about different things - no response or delayed 12 hours - even though there appeared to be folks upstairs (which is where they live). No meet and greet - just a note on a sign by the door about which room you were in. Breakfast is put into a cupboard in the kitchen for you - and consisted of prepackaged granola bars, applesauce, and instant oatmeal. Almost forgot about the sandpaper they call bathroom towels - ouch! This could be a really neat little place for folks to come and stay if only the owners cared about anything but raking in the money.

A wonderful gem - you won't find better budget accommodations on Maui. If you're looking for a seaside pampering experience, look elsewhere - but if you're looking for a centrally located home base to adventure, you can't do any better. The grounds and surrounding scenery are absolutely gorgeous, and the hot tub is magical - plus, if you like meeting new people from all over the world, you can chat with other guests in the hot tub or in the shared backyard/kitchen. And if you don't, it's easy enough to keep to yourself. The only drawbacks are shared bathrooms showers (but there are enough that I never had an issue finding a free one), the lack of washer/dryer for guest use, and depending on which room you get, space may be a bit tight. But those are really, really minor for how wonderful everything else was.

If you're looking for a budget place on Maui, this is worth it. It's important to note it's more of a cross between a hostel and a B&B. We stayed just one night. Beds were comfortable enough, bathrooms clean, location good. PROS: cost, location, cleanliness CONS: I tried to text owners about how late was too late for check-in (no response); through more investigation on various review sites, I learned that there's a board on the porch that gives you your room #, then when you get to the room, there's a code to lock it and you use that code to unlock. I also learned through those reviews that there's no air conditioning. Given the location, the breezes work pretty well, and there's a fan, but if that's important to you, just be aware. The bottom line is that I chose this for the price and was fine with shared bathrooms/facilities. I wish I had known about no air conditioning and that this was less of a B&B and more of a hostel, but for many travelers, that's all you need. I tend to travel with a couple of picky family members. If I were doing a girls trip to Maui for a few nights, I'd probably come back. I don't know if I would come back with my spouse and son just because we tend to go for more hotel-like accommodations. It's a good stay - just be aware that it's more hostel-like than fancy B&B like, but the price should turn you on to that.

We had an amazing stay at God’s Peace of Maui. It’s really well equipped with shared showers and toilets providing everything you need. The location is strategic, in the middle of the island. Rooms are cozy (we stayed in the main lodge) but fitting everything needed. Kitchen has all amenities and equipment and owners are very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a very good price/quality stay, out from the crowd I really recommend it! And there’s a Jacuzzi in a very nice garden, very magical during evenings.
