Hotel San Francesco

Nice little hotel (dog lovers) situated just down an alley off the main street and beach. They do have a small pool on the ***** separately the road from the beach. We stayed in room 202 facing the beach side. I recommend getting a higher floor if possible and one more towards the middle like room 307. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby to get snacks et al. The service was very pleasant and the rooms clean. Tile floors, minimalist look

A horrible experience that should be forgotten. I was there in July 2021. I arrived at the hotel, and I asked the gentleman at the reception if, as hotel guests, we have a discount for sunbeds at their private beach. The receptionist answered that in general it's a great offer that you should pay at the reception for the whole stay, that is 20 euros per person, but "if we know a little Russian... maybe we can negotiate differently". We don't know such a language, and we were disgusted by his attitude anyway, with selective prices depending on nationality and appearance... A ****** and ugly attitude. On the beach, whoever takes care of the sunbeds, asked us for 12 euros per person, but the other day we were walking around randomly and they took us as unaccommodated tourists at their hotel, asking us only 10 euros... In conclusion, some profiteers, swindlers who make fools of their own guests as well. Poor breakfast, very expensive menus, high prices and poor quality of food in many locations in the resort. Probably the most terrible pasta, with bitter tomato juice and without any taste, I ate there, at an overpriced price. Too bad about the location...because the people leave much to be desired.

Had a terrible experience at the " beach club" first day we were told it's 40 euro per day..I only stayed at the beach 1 hour max with my baby and 4 year old each day. The service at the beach bar was dreadful. I waited 20 minutes to order an ice lolly. The man in charge picked on me twice ordering me to wash the sand off my feet ( when I was crossing the road to the hotel! Then on our last day I was leaving again with my babies in their stroller and he ordered me to wash the sand off my son's feet! I had to take him out of the stroller and carry him down the ramp and back up! Leaving my baby alone in the stroller! Then he blocked our way with his stupid water hose! I also heard them on a previous day giving out about us in Italian ( I speak Italian so I understood this) calling the stroller disgusting.. obviously the sand really annoys these awful people. The sea was dirty in the evening from all the boats constantly bringing in tourists. The town is very polluted with traffic. There isn't a good selection of restaurants there with poor quality food. I would never return to that hotel. A complete rip off with ****** and sexist people working there.

Such a lovely hotel in Maiori. The staff are so friendly and helpful and can’t do enough for you. Breakfast was lovely and you could order fresh omelettes each morning. The hotel has a small swimming pool and a private part of the beach across the road which you pay for each day but this guarantees sun beds and an umbrella. The snack bar by the swimming pool is very good and reasonable. The hotel is also very close to the ferry port where you can purchase tickets to Amalfi etc. Overall an enjoyable stay!

The Hotel San Francesco was a nice place to stay in Maiori. The Hotel has it’s own beach access and is one of the few places on the Amalfi Coast with plenty of room to walk along the beach. The hotel is just a short walk from the ferry where you can purchase tickets to visit Minori, Amalfi and Positano. The breakfast staff was great each morning and would bring you freshly made omelets and coffee to start your day.

When we checked into our room, there were ants everywhere! Not only my room but our daughters room as well. An employee came with a spray bottle and rag to disinfect the area of which was impossible! They wanted to give us a different room of which we refused because the hotel clearly has an ant problem. The room was very outdated, the safe was not bolted to anything. You could just walk away with it. In the end we walked away and they charged me for the full week for both rooms! When we went downstairs to complain about the ants, we were very discreet. We are now contesting the charges of which will cost them dearly! Be careful and DO NOT book here!

· Tried to charge us twice and we wouldn’t have known except the the card we originally paid with was replaced so we got a warning. Arrived to find that we did not have adjoining rooms so our family was split over floors. The rooms were advertised as having balconies, but only had a window. No basics, like a kettle. Lock fir the bathroom door was on the outside so you could only lock people in! Their website stated they had a private pool and beach, but upon arrival we’re told this was EUR30 per room per day, so would have bed. EUR240 for two rooms over our stay (there is little else to do) to use the hotel’s facilities! We complained to the receptionist that this was not made clear so she waived the fee, but upon checkout the manager said he never agrees to that and we had to pay. A shame this hotel ruined what was a lovely place on a trip around Italy that was otherwise good. I don’t usually write reviews or complain, but thought I would warn others to avoid this place If it were Australia I would probably have called the police I felt so ripped off!

This hotel is the epitome of Italian culture at its finest. The staff at this hotel are a credit to Italian hospitality. From the time that we stepped out the taxi on the Sunday , Angelo wouldn't let us take our bags one step further and insisted on taking them to our rooms for us.

Lovely hotel, very close to the see and lots of great restaurants. Everything is expensive on the Amalfi coast but this is a great hotel. Staff are very friendly. The beach loungers are expensive but this is pretty normal for the area. Lunch is good value in the restaurant beside the pool. The beach sands get insanely hot so bring good quality flip flops and a water bottle just for your feet. Breakfast on the terrace is lovely and had dinner there one night, though I was ill (not related to the hotel). Overall a great hotel.
