Further down the Okavango river than most lodges around Divundu and it is much easier to spot hippos. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The chef and his crew are creating wonderful dishes with a local twist. We booked the Lions Family Suite and had a lovely balcony with an outdoor bed looking out over the river and its stunning scenery.

We were privileged to spend 3 nights at Ndhovu lodge, two in the riverside tent and one night a newly completed land suite. Both units had air conditioning and with temperatures at 32C it was a welcome relief to be able to cool off. The overall experience was fantastic, the sunset cruise which enabled us to see the Carmine Bee-eaters and their nesting in the side of the river bank was fantastic. The game drive in Buffalo park and the evening meals (with great food) at a shared table with other guests where we were able to pick up tips for the upcoming travel, turned the experience into the way the river and it's surroundings should be enjoyed. Despite the low water, hippos were in abundance. The camp is well run with owner on site overseeing things. If we return to the Caprivi in the future, Ndhovu will be on our list.

The highlight of this place is their chef! The dinner was the most delicious meal we have had in any lodge or camp in Namibia so far! However, they wanted to put everyone on the same table and when we asked whether we could have a table for two as we were tired and didn't have the energy to socialise, we were told by the owner that mixing guests was their policy and anyway we were staying only one night... I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean. Anyway, they prepared a separate table for us and two other groups who asked for the same thing, but there may be room for improvement on the client service side... The tent was comfortable with a nice bathroom, and the hippos were close but not too close. We woke up with the sound of the birds. The breakfast was nice. There are some pretty amazing ceramics in the boutique as well.

Nicely located direct on the Okavango, this tented lodge offers a lot of great boat and game drives. You can also drive into the nearby Bwabwata National Park on your own. The tents are rather simple but fully equipped. The cuisine was excellent. The chief Cook, rightfully so, was very proud of his products.

A fantastic location with friendly and helpful staff. The owner was very welcoming and provided great advice on trips in the area and beyond.
