I only stayed one night in the midst of the pandemic so I’m sure this hotel has a very different dynamic in regular times. The reception area is fantastic, a huge, high ceiling area meaning you can see right up to the top floor. Add some pedestrian traffic and guests and you’ve got a great place to have a coffee or meet people. In today’s environment, it just seemed sad and empty. The room was well equipped, nice big bed, good bathroom - though who uses a bidet in 2020? Service was good as you would expect from having so few guests. As with all hotels, they are keen to point out and highlight their environmental commitments. But then this hotel takes payment for electric car charging - presumably with the excuse they have no choice etc, managed by another company etc. It seems green issues are only an initiative if they save money. That aside, I would stay here again and I’m sure it’s a very different place in normal times.

The bathroom is very small, especially the shower area, which is surrounded by plastic sheets and is relatively small. The hotel is on the fourth floor and the reception desk is also on the fourth floor. There is no kettle, there is a free bottle of water.

No porters. Two separate lifts to get to the second floor. I booked a deluxe room and the first room I was given was in the attic with windows the size of the slits used to fire arrows out of in castles. After a serious complaint I was given a proper room however the air conditioner did not work. When I queried this the receptionist said the whole second floor was without air-conditioning this would have been fine if the outside temperature had not been the 34 degrees it was during our stay on top of this the room was west facing so the temperature inside the room was well into the 30's most of the time. The secure parking is €16 per day and the swimming pool an extra €6 per person per day. The restaurant was full of flies at breakfast time and front door did not work on the day we left so everyone had to use a side door.

Wir kennen alle die Hotels vom Range eines Mercure Plaza im schönen Stadtteil Suderburg von Magdeburg. Erbaut nach der Wende und stilistisch dort auch geblieben. Warum auch nicht? Wir tauschen unsere Möbel auch nicht jedes Jahr. Das Hotel ist praktisch an die Straßenverbindungen angeschlossen, verfügt über eine schöne Garage und hat ein italienisches Restaurant im Haus, welches einen nach einem langen Arbeitstag durchaus verwöhnt. Ich werde jedenfalls den sehr guten Grana Padano mit Marmelade von grüner Tomate als Amouse Bouche nicht vergessen. Nachteile: Die Zimmer sind alt eingerichtet (aber top sauber!) und entsprechen den 90er Jahren. So sind auch die (sehr sauberen) Bäder. Und jetzt kommt Habeck: Das Hotel nutzt eine Wärmepumpe im Innenhof und diese ist so laut, dass ein jeder, der davon zukünftig betroffen ist, sich hier über die Grüne Zukunft bestens informieren kann. Danke für diesen Einblick, der mich davon überzeugen konnte, dieses Land schnellstens zu verlassen und den Grünlingen ihre national Deutschen Träume ohne uns ausleben zu lassen. Adieu, Herr Habeck!

We booked it since my husband was in Magdeburg business and were really looking forward to the pool. First to the positive things: the hotel and the room are very clean, the staff with some small exceptions very friendly large selection of breakfast, free swimming pool towels at the reception. Negative to mention online, in the elevator in the hotel and on all platforms it is called, among other things, family hotel but it is rather a business hotel, but it was probably also because our room was directly in the 'hall' The hotel was very warm in the room, you could hardly breathe because you always moved cigarette smelter from other rooms to our room, which was in the 2nd floor above the restaurant to the sea side. The pool was too cold that if you can go in if you come from the sauna but so unfortunately my daughter had not been shaken directly before cold. At breakfast the selection is enough but a full coffee machine at the number of guests to Little part of the people were 10 serpent, whirlwind always cold even if it came fresh from the kitchen sauce see picture probably from the previous day ( one day before breakfast end container full, One day later, the sauces looked like on the picture). Free parking as indicated a parking lot offered for the amount of rooms disaster on the other side of the street is not recommendable. If we're going to Magdeburg next time we'll book another hotel again.

I was a weekend for the family in Magdeburg and I went to the Classic Hotel without any sleeping places. I arrived very late and hadn't eaten yet (23:00) and was very tired. I hadn't expected it anymore but I got a super delicious pizza and a cool beer from the hotel bar. The bed was super comfortable and I sleeped very well this night. This hotel is suitable for couples, singles and families. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you can relax in the foyer super. It is not overlooking and the staff is very nice.

We were traveling from Warsaw to Rotterdam and needed a overnight stop . This location was perfect close to the motorway. We had not pre booked , but the receptionist was very helpful and spoke per English. The room was spotless and provided space and other little extas. We ate in the restaurant, and although the menu was limited , there was enough choice and was very tasty. The staff again were very polite and the young gentleman spoke English which was very helpful. Breakfast again was plentiful with a mass choice for everyone , including a gluten free area ( for those). We enjoyed every bit of it and would stay again , but be warned it was not cheap but worth it . Maksim Kocura 02/02/ 23

GGuest UserI arrived late and left early (this hotel is about 5 mins walk from the Railway Station) but was very satisfied with my stay here. The hotel is clearly pretty new and was unusually decorated with a cycling theme which made it a bit interesting - I am tempted to return to the area with my bike in the future now! The staff I dealt with on reception were pleasant and I would describe the room as very clean and comfortable. The one minor annoyance was that there is no glass in the bathroom or even any kind of cup in the room but by the time I had undressed and realised this I was too tired to get dressed to go downstairs and ask for one (as invited by the notice in the room) so made do with an empty drink bottle I happened to have with me. Slept well in the room though, would stay here again.

GGuest UserSo we arrive at the hotel after a long journey. We are greeted by a teenager who did not inspire confidence. We simply wanted to know where breakfast would be the next morning. He told us that we had to go to a restaurant located 1000 meters away. This seemed odd, but he was quite insistent that breakfast was from 0700 - 1000 AM at the off-site restaurant. The next morning we went to the restaurant as directed. Imagine our surprise to find the restaurant locked and closed! We did see a woman working inside and we motioned to her. She brusquely dismissed us. We went on our way without our breakfast since we were on a schedule. We asked about the breakfast problem later that night. The woman at the hotel disputed our account. She did not believe us and was she was very rude. I would not be writing this review iIf she had simply apologized for the inconvenience and showed some concern. Apart from that, the extra beds in the junior suite were not made upon our arrival. The room was a bit stuffy. Also, they charge 1.50 euro for a cup of instant coffee! On the other hand, there is parking on site and the bathrooms seem to be newly renovated. Still, given the utter lack of customer service and care for the clients, we will not be staying here again.
