Alila Kothaifaru Maldives

Absolutely loved this place and couldn't recommend it enough to others. The overwater villas are amazing, the staff are fantastic - this island gives exactly the kind of tropical holiday in paradise portrayed on TV (thinking White Lotus vibes, in a good way).

We chose our honeymoon trip to Alila was the best choice we made. Started from Male airport to the resort was very comfortably start to enjoy the Maldives. We made several different room reservation, and kinda worried about room changing, but our butler Niya was fantastic. Room change was very smooth and he informed very kindly advance to the time when we had to move. He explained very kindly the facility of the resort and communicate very well during our whole stay. Me and my wife very satisfied the honeymoon trip from Alila and would love to recommend to my people for sure. Absolutely great hospitality service and very loved it! Thank you again Niya and all the staffs from Alila that we made an amazing memories(:

The hotel itself was great. However, buyer beware: The 'Sunrise' view rooms face north. As most everyone knows the sun rises in the east. The Lagoon rooms face east and so actually see a sunrise, strangely they stare into the open ocean and not the lagoon. We had booked a sunrise room which is a $125 up-charge per night, but we're unable to see the sunrise. They will tell you that it's because of the time of the year, but this is just false, it's because they face north and someone screwed up their naming convention. It was clear after discussion that they are aware of this issue and have had multiple complaints. To that end they said they're renaming the rooms shortly. The staff were kind enough to relocate us to a Lagoon room after our first night and confirmed it is a cheaper room. It was nice to see the sunrise. On check-out the hotel tried to tell us they could not refund the difference between the two rooms and could only offer Hyatt points. After some protest we received an email confirming they would refund the amount to our credit card. Email is attached with personal details redacted. We're still waiting nearly two months later for that refund. We've followed up multiple times and though commitments are made to refund, they never come through and there is no follow up. Calls to Hyatt corporate indicate refunds are the hotels business, which is a convenient deflection. The hotel itself and it's staff are wonderful but it's management is dishonest. If you have no issues you'll likely have a great time. If you need anything from Management good luck.

My stay at Alila Maldives to celebrate my birthday was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. Our host, Lily, went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Her attention to detail and personalized touches truly made us feel special. The facility itself is stunning, with luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views at every turn. We enjoyed relaxing by the pristine beaches and indulging in the various activities offered by the resort. The food and beverage team also deserves recognition for their outstanding service. Each meal was a culinary delight, with a diverse selection of dishes that satisfied our palates. The presentation and quality of the food were top-notch, and we were impressed by the attentiveness of the staff. Overall, our experience at Alila Maldives exceeded our expectations in every way. We cannot thank the staff enough for making my birthday celebration truly memorable. We look forward to returning to this paradise in the future!

I have a visited this hotel with my baby four months old. I would like to emphasise that laundry for kids clothes was for free. Moreover, all the stuff was endlessly attentive for the kid. What else,villa , literally was perfect, lovely pool and exit for the beachside really nice and good cleaning service. The only thing, there was actually only two restaurants, and both of them were à la cart, especially I didn’t like umami because there wasn’t enough food sea salt was the only place where we had dinners. Afterwards I would recommend this place to open more restaurants for their guests. Otherwise it is just boring. Plus it will be amazing if they provide some fire shows or any shows in the evenings. So to finish my review, I’m really gratitude to Umeda for all her help and attention. She is the best Butler ever!

I can not say enough great things about our trip. It was so beautiful, and the staff was the nicest I have come across anywhere. The resort was very family friendly, the food was excellent and we HIGHLY recommend this resort.

We had a very good time at the Alila Kothaifaru Maldives. The personnel was very attentive, the OW Villa was incredible. You can enjoy an relax at the privacy of your room or participate in the different activities they organize. We would definitely love to come back.

If you travel with your children they will be bored. But for couples island is wonderful. Lonely, beautiful, good food, nice stuff. Island is modern, quite, nice lagoon. Good rooms, excellent beach. We recommend
