Alila Kothaifaru Maldives

It was my first trip to Maldives & i picked Alila, love both the room interior and exterior. Food was surprisingly good 😍 Me and my bf enjoyed alot here!

The hotel has very good food options and all are very well made. The staffs are very attentive and friendly, always coming to chat with us and giving advice on activities and history of Maldives. I’m The hotel offers good variety of water sports so that we won’t get bored. The sand is fine on the beach and the water quality is very suitable for snorkelling. We can easily find lots of fish by swimming a hundred meters from the shore. We tried SPAs, table tennis, snooker, gym facilities. We joined scuba diving, fishing and they were all very well organised. The only shortfall is the pest problem. Lots of mosquitoes caused serious problems at the beginning. The staff should have warned guests seriously about this so that we can get prepared (closing doors and apply repellant) otherwise you will get really bad bites by various bugs. We stayed at beach villa and every night it’s like a battle of all kinds of bugs - gigantic cockroaches, snails, worms, caterpillars, flies, lizards, spiders, red ants and sand bugs. I even found one flying ant in bed one night. This really ******* me during the entire trip.

My wife and I spent a 5-day honeymoon at Alila from December 15 to 19. From our arrival at Male Airport Island to the final check-out at Alila Kothaifaru, we received warm hospitality from all the staff at the resort, along with polite greetings every day and at every moment. You can feel that all the service personnel there are very genuine and sincere. They treat you not just as a guest but as a friend, often engaging you in conversation. The resort maintains 100% of its original vegetation and various rare small animals. The cultural aspects and food are predominantly presented in a natural style, adding to the local authenticity. The modern overwater villas create a striking contrast, allowing us to achieve perfect relaxation for both body and mind, which still amazes us to this day. Special thanks to Arya, Muaz, Lordhy, Samy, Billy, and other professional staff on the island. We truly appreciate your heartfelt service, my wife and I are very grateful. All the facilities in the resort are very innovative and user-friendly, especially considering Alila Maldives has only been open for about 2 years. Before our trip, my wife and I struggled with the choice of which resort to select. But we are very glad we ultimately chose Alila and have no regrets whatsoever! Once again, thank you to all the professional staff at the resort for making our stay so unforgettable and wonderful!

What can I say … WOW! My husband and I just left Alila after spending 5 nights celebrating our anniversary, one in the beach villas and four in a sunset over water villa. By far our most amazing and memorable vacation all because of the staff and accommodations here. I booked Alila because I love Hyatt properties and was excited about such a new resort and it exceeded expectations. From being greeted at the airport to being dropped back off after our vacation, we never had to worry about a thing! The staff was so helpful, kind and genuinely nice. We truly enjoyed getting to know them. Special shoutout to Sull our host who made sure we had everything we needed the entire vacation and seamlessly organized our week, Atoof who made our shack sundowner and private dinner unforgettable and Echo who was always such a delight while we were dining and the DJ at Mirus Bar in the evening who had the best beats, kept us at the bar late one night! My husband and I love to stay active so we booked quite a few activities and our expectations were exceeded with each one. Started off with Teppanyaki at Umami and found out upon arrival that they were doing a special sake pairing and moved our reservation for us, how fun and very generous with the sake! We did the floating breakfast which was such a bucket list item and worth it! Snorkeling to the turtle reef, Fernanda was our amazing guide, was so helpful while snorkeling and talked to us about her work in marine biology which we were so interested in! We also did a photo session which was so much fun and made sure we came home with some physical memories of our trip as well as the best massages of our lives at the spa and an unforgettable evening at the Shack for the sundowner. We had wanted to do the Dhoni sundowner but is under renovation so they put us at the Shack. It’s beautiful and private and an unforgettable spot to watch the sunset. We were sad to leave! Finally we ended our trip with a private dinner under the stars, which was setup beautifully, had dedicated serving and cooking staff and was amazing! The chef Frank also came out to check on us which was a nice touch! We loved the rooms, the views, the food and how the resort never felt crowded. My husband loved watching the bats on the island - so cool! And the house reef was spectacular. You won’t regret a visit to Alila Maldives!
