"Decent Hotel that is approximately 15-20 minutes from Madrid's main airport. There are no local shops or restaurants and for this they exploit the opportunity by charging 3-4 times the normal retail price for drinks and snacks in the vending machine on the ground floor. Restaurant left little to be desired on the menu. To get to central Madrid, like areas such as Sol you will need to exit the hotel to reach the main road, cross over (don't forget this) and catch most of the available buses to the metro station and then continue your journey by metro for 7-8 stops. So a transport card is recommended for a few days travelling around. Rooms are a little spacious and are clean but have no in-room safe leaving you to juggle your valuables and to secure them in your luggage. Overall a decent stay at a ”no-frills” hotel that is priced really well. Expect the price to go up once they add more amenities such as complimentary bottled water, a safe and a mini-bar."

"The hotel is far away from the city center but public transportations are nearby so pretty convenient. I traveled solo and was put in a room with 2 twin beds pushed together so I’d asked to change me to a one queen but the front desk guy said they’re all booked, although it seemed pretty empty on a Monday. The room I stayed in didn’t have a bathtub but the design was really nice with a great view. The lights were very complicated to use because they had too many things going on so sometimes the lights in the room turn on out of no where in the middle of the night extra bright. The room had cool technologies though like automatic blinds that blackout the room, vanity lights, and rainfall showers. You pretty much don’t know what kind of designs the room you get will have so it might not be for everyone who must have certain things-might be better to go with a chain brand. The room had weird things like 3 landline phones-one by the bed, one on the tv wall, and one near the toilet in case you need to order room service while pooping I guess. The hotel amenities like the pool were closed and chairs were covered and certain areas seemed rundown for a 5-star hotel. Overall, ok experience."

"Right in the centre of Gran Via. Next to Ray Ban and Zara store. Perfect base. 001 bus from Madrid train station stops in front of the hotel and the metro stop Gran Via Callelllo stop is in front of the hotel. The facilities are cleaned regularly. Each room has an A&C or fan. The WiFi is also very strong. A really good hotel with great facilities and affordable."

"The experience of staying in a B&B in Madrid is really not good. The main problem is the service. I booked two nights, and the flight was more than ten hours. I arrived at the door at more than ten in the morning, but I didn’t receive the check-in password and other information until the afternoon. It is said that you must wait until the check-in time of three in the afternoon to send an email. But I saw with my own eyes that the second group of new guests with luggage could check in early. When I contacted directly, they said that because they did not book on the hotel platform, they could not provide the best price and service. I felt very offended. Thanks to the customer service staff of Ctrip’s overseas department, who actively communicated and coordinated throughout the process, and gave compensation. Although I still waited for several hours and checked in at the time they specified, Ctrip was okay. It is recommended that Ctrip change its overseas suppliers in Spain. Finally, based on my many stays, I do not recommend B&Bs in Madrid."

"The location is very good, right next to Retiro Park, and the room assigned to us was also large, with a microwave and kitchenware. The downside is that the air conditioning in the room is not very powerful. Even if I keep turning it on in the middle of the night, I still wake up due to the heat. In addition, friends who stay in this hotel for travel may also consider not buying all transportation cards, because the closest to this hotel is the Cercanía train, and transportation will be more convenient if you purchase tickets separately. See you next time in Madrid!"

"Overall. The hotel is near Puerta del Sol, there is access control, ring the bell or swipe the card to enter, feeling safe. The first floor is bright and warm, the first impression is not bad, the receptionist is older and the attitude is average. Enter the room to see that the facilities and sanitation are generally the same, it seems to be a private house renovation. The elevator is very fun. Press the button of the building. It will slowly rise or fall to this floor, and then quickly open the elevator door, otherwise it will leave. The first time I took this elevator, I didn't see it at first, and I climbed two floors with my suitcase."

"First of all, the location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the Prado Museum and a 10-minute walk from Puerta del Sol, which is commendable. However, the room smelled strongly after renovations. The hotel also insisted on charging an extra €55 for bringing my daughter, who's under 11. This is incomprehensible. We've traveled all the way from Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Madrid, and we've never encountered such treatment. Hilton and Marriott hotels don't charge extra for bringing children, and the Frankfurt Hilton even offered a free extra bed. We booked a so-called superior king room with a street view, but if you look closely at the room pictures, you can only see the balcony of the building opposite, with no street view at all. Beware! We tipped €50 from check-in to check-out. The bellhop was incredibly helpful. This hotel has a large staircase, so travelers with a lot of luggage should be aware of this pitfall. 😂😂"

"I would have wanted to say 10/10 in fact until the last minute it was so but my transport goes out at 6 pm and there is no one at reception at that time and the door was blocked (rotated) Without the possibility of going out with card or button ..... The Lord of Uber helped me force the door to get out right when the police told us we could do it, we call all the phones we had from the hotel and no one answered. I think if they put out autonomous should consider having a security guard at that time or a normal type emergency access because I was going to search the train but imagine if there was a real incense or emergency ...... that needs to improve it absolutely already"

Great
TTraveler 123recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Palacio de los Duques in Madrid, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I entered the magnificent palace-like building, I was captivated by the grandeur and elegance that surrounded me. The hotel's location in the heart of Madrid's historic center is perfect for exploring the city's attractions. Many iconic landmarks, such as the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor, are within walking distance, making it convenient for sightseeing enthusiasts like me. The staff at Palacio de los Duques Madrid truly went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service provided by the concierge, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality and professionalism. The room I stayed in was beautifully appointed and exuded a sense of luxury. The elegant decor, comfortable furnishings, and modern amenities created a perfect sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. The attention to detail was impeccable, and I appreciated the little touches that enhanced my stay, such as the plush bathrobes and high-quality toiletries. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's stunning rooftop terrace. Offering panoramic views of Madrid's skyline, it provided a breathtaking backdrop for enjoying a drink or simply unwinding while taking in the city's beauty. The on-site restaurant also surpassed my expectations with its delectable cuisine, showcasing a fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors. Hotel Palacio de los Duques Madrid seamlessly blends historical charm with modern luxury. The preservation of the building's architectural heritage, combined with the impeccable service and attention to detail, creates an unforgettable experience. Overall, my stay at Hotel Palacio de los Duques Madrid exceeded all expectations. It is a true gem in the heart of Madrid, offering a perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and convenience. Whether you are visiting for business or leisure, I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay in the vibrant capital city of Spain.

NNo sugar ,but coffeeThe room was clean and tidy. The breakfast spread was extensive, with options catering to Chinese palates, including local fried dough sticks (youtiao) and dumplings, all of which tasted great. There was also a wide selection of fresh fruit. The only minor downside was the typical European hotel amenity setup – no complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided in the room. The location is also excellent, right next to Retiro Park and the Prado Museum.

GGuest UserThe apartment was hugely overpriced. The location is nowhere near the plush area of Retiro as suggested by the apartment description. The apartments are tiny with no natural light. They are very dark and depressing. The water takes a long long time to heat up. There has been money wasted on fancy bathroom sinks and wooden floors when comfort should be the number one priority. The beds are really terrible and really hard. I developed back and shoulder pain within a few hours of trying to sleep on the bed. The human spine is S shaped and if you lie on a decent bed your shoulder and hip should sink into the mattress. This offers vital comfort and support. The pillows are really cheap and uncomfortable and in the two upstairs apartments you can hear the people in the next room loud and clear. The equipment in the kitchen is very restricted. Not enough knives and forks and the cutlery provided is not suitable. Steak knives all two of them to spread butter!!! Nothing to cut loaves or other food stuffs. Half a tea towel and no kitchen towel which is not practical to buy for a 1-3 night stay. Two toilet rolls, not enough for a 3 person stay. Considering the extortionate price charged for the tiny so called Junior Suite, the owner should have provided more comfort and facilities and the beds are truly terrible and lack of sound proofing being able to hear my neighbours farting was pretty awkward. However, the lady on Reception Mayumi was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She was kind and considerate and a real asset to the company. The male members of staff were not remotely helpful whoever they were. Not a place I would recommend and certainly not at that price with beds that feel like you are sleeping on the floor with a sheet and pillow!

GGuest UserThe hotel is not bad. The bed is big, comfortable, everything for a comfortable stay is there, wi-fi is good. But before that I rented an apartment for the same money closer to the center, I liked them more. However, for one night it is quite possible to stay in this hotel. There is a metro nearby. It is 40-50 minutes to the center on foot, but I went for a walk. The room is old, but clean, you can leave your things for free. However, the hotel has good audibility, you can hear all conversations, but at night no one made noise.

GGuest UserOur stay at Hard Rock was really pleasant! The staff were really helpful and accommodating, ready to answer all our questions and provide recommendations. Special shout to Alejandro and Alberto at the front desk, and also Adrian who took care of our luggages. There are two bars, one in the lobby and one on the rooftop. Drinks are good. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so we can’t comment on that. Room was nice and comfortable, they clean daily. Only thing I didn’t like was the sink was outside the bathroom. Not sure why many people complained about the location. There are PLENTY of cafes, bars, and restaurants within walking distance and all frequented by locals. It’s also just a couple of stops away from Sol station. Here’s a tip, the hotel will tell you that the nearest station is Atocha, but we feel like Lavapies station is much closer and easier to walk to. Lavapies is also only one stop from Sol station - which is the centre. For breakfast, there is a Panaderia right across the road. For lunch or dinner, there’s Bar Argumosa and Orisha restaurant. If you’re okay to walk a bit more, there’s a lovely neighbourhood called Anton Martin with many bars and restaurants too.

MMrWong888After traveling extensively in China, returning to Spain highlighted some noticeable differences, particularly in Madrid. While the city and its infrastructure may feel a bit outdated compared to other global hubs, the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá was a decent and comfortable place to stay. The hotel’s location is its strongest feature—it’s directly across from Chamartín Train Station and its adjacent subway station. While the train station and subway facilities are not the most modern or impressive, the convenience of being so close to transportation hubs is a definite plus. The street leading to the hotel is a bit unusual, set on a slope, but it’s manageable. The room was clean and functional, though slightly dated. The beds were comfortable, albeit with older spring mattresses that could use an upgrade. Despite the slightly worn feel, the room provided a comfortable space to rest after a day of exploring or work. The standout feature of this hotel was undoubtedly the breakfast. It was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that catered to different tastes. It was easily the highlight of my stay and set a great tone for the day. The service was also pleasant and friendly, which is a nice touch, especially given the sometimes lackluster service standards in Spain. The staff were helpful and made the stay more enjoyable. Overall, while the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá may not be the most modern or luxurious option, it offers good value for its location, a comfortable stay, and an exceptional breakfast. If you’re looking for a convenient and reliable place to stay near Chamartín Station, this hotel is a solid choice.

MMariaB12Good location, quiet and safe area. Kitchen to cook but the other residents didn't like it when I tried to use the kitchen. Separate rooms for men and women but I chose to stay in the men's room to be with my son. I never had an issue in there. Some of the staff were kind and some was rude and gossipping to other customers us. The problem was the second day when I tried to use the women”s bathroom when I woke up in the morning -as I was advised to by the staff- and some Latino women didn't allowed me to go to the toilet. I went to the men's bathroom although they didn't like it too using theirs. In the afternoon I went again to take a shower, again in the women's room, and two other Latino women started talking and talking, making recommendations and problem. Again I left. Asked the receptionist about their boss to file a complaint but nowhere to be found. Just like Acacias and Thirty One so in Las Rosas the same boss but hiding. You can”t contact them. The same company owns these three and four more hostels and I realised this is the way they operate. They definitely have a personal issue with me and I don”t know if it is because I am a European citizen and not a Latina or it is something else. But that kind of bullying I've suffered in their hostels is unexceptable and I will not allow it. I will proceed in the court against them as they treat me like they are superior, they bullied me and they have to get what they deserve. So I will see them in court. As for their other hostel Rio who have cancelled our reservations and caused us so much trouble yesterday, I will write my review for them in every detail. So disrespectful and so unprofessional.
