The room was very simple, but the hygiene was OK. It was just that the price of 150 euros and such facilities were a bit out of place. Fortunately, it was close to the venue where we played, probably because it was in the city center. Otherwise, it would be a shame to pay this hotel!

Initially we went to the wrong place. Hotel Sardinero looks lovely btw! Hostel Sardinero is fine for what we paid. We had a street terrace. The aircon is extra money. We needed it so we paid but it did leak everywhere. The TV volume was stuck on low so we could barely hear it. The receptionist was very nice and we got by even though she spoke no English. She let us leave our luggage there after checkout. The entrance is through a common area with a elevator.

It costs little (but not very little) and offers little: old room, no breakfast (maybe a coffee machine but we didn't use it), they don't tidy up your room if you don't sleep there at least 3 nights, at the reception, if you can call it that, there's almost never anyone. Cleanliness is passable but in the building, I don't know why, there's a persistent smell. The only advantage is the central location. Only for short stays without any quality claims.

I had my reservations at first, because "hostel" usually gives the idea of accommodation for 20-something backpackers in shared rooms. But no. Although the place is small, it is clean and quiet. And the location is great, right in the literary district, just 10 minutes from Paseo del Prado and the museums or Gran Via, on foot. Obviously it is different from the hotel experience; but, for short stays, it is fine.

The location is excellent, otherwise a little disappointing, since I didn't find the room I booked. There was dust on the desk and the chair was dirty. Expensive compared to the services offered.
