The cleaning staff was cleaning the bathroom continuously, the hotel is therefore clean. Modern design and very comfortable beds, the room are walking distance to several stations in the very center of madrid. The check in and checkout are automatic and also the opening of all the doors are done via internet and without a code. This makes impossible to rate the service but is definitely very convenient. Just make sure that your phone is always charged! The low price is, in my opinion, due to the fact that the rooms have no real windows: the small openings face the corridor, and the corridor itself has no windows, so a bit claustrophobic.

They gave us the worst room, right at the entrance, you could hear everyone coming and going, it was also too cold and very small, the bathroom was far from the room and it was impossible to communicate with them, there is a 24 hour number and it was turned off all the time

This one had different sides to it. It is relatively cheap, while being quite well located, and being pretty neat. Price is down thanks to shortcuts on staff (self check-in) and facilities. I stayed 5 nights and had some € 75 a night. It was a new experience to arrive at a non descript door on a busy street, to be opened by a magical URL sent previously. Let's go through some topics. No luggage-storage, as there is no staff, and it isn't facilitated any other way. - This was my primary concern in advance. Very unpractical when arriving before 15:00, or leaving after 12:00. It made me consider another option. - It would be simple to put lockers in the hallway, and enable the lock on the outer door during the day of arrival and departure. Communication at first very annoying. - My simple repeated question by e-mail about that storage: no answer, only shoving off to a chatbot, or completely ignored. - They NEVER answered the phone, only BS-message that 'their agents are busy'. While this is supposed to be for emergencies. Human contact possible after all. - The chatbot turned out to be able to connect to an actual human being. Do a Turing-test first! But it was a relief to get an actual response. - Needed that twice because of a faulty drain-cover in my bathroom, exposing nasty screws which wounded my foot. There was a pretty prompt response, but it needed 2 calls before it got somewhat fixed. - It remains worrying to be completely dependent on a data connection by phone. I had some trouble with that, the building's WiFi had to help me outside the front-door. There would be an intercom at that door, but I haven't seen it. Location quite convenient. - Bordering centre of town. Old town and palace at walking distance. - Very close to the metro, 20 m! Alternatively just walk to or from the Plaza de Espana. Convenient as I didn't use any buses, but the metro was a good way to get started or get back. - Restaurants nearby. At least various fast-food and a cafeteria on the nearby square towards Plaza de Espana. Also consider VIPS for a decent meal. Room - Pretty new, neat, and clean. - Needs some pegs on the walls. - Major flaw: though the doors have a keypad, one can't use a code. One always has to take a phone out, or leave the door open. Even when just going to the toilet. One can't take a shower and leave the phone on a charger. And can't even properly put it somewhere in the bathroom. It would be simple to automatically assign a code by the hotel, or let the guest choose one. The locks even seem intended for the latter by a slide on the inside. I didn't get that working though. - Second flaw. Rooms are quite noisy. Doors badly close, walls are thin. I don't want to hear what's happening on the toilet despite 2 doors in between, or hear my neighbour snoring, or worse. See the picture for the laughable doors. Bathroom - Shared. Multiple on the corridor. - Also neat. - Seem to be cleaned every day. - Need to add a small shelf in the shower,

Two days after I stayed there, they sent me a 5 euro charge because they say I took a bath mat, a mat that never existed, that I never saw in that room and that I never used. I complained on the form and I didn't get a response, I tried to file a complaint and the page "curiously" says error, I tried to send their response later. I attached photos, I have the video of how we left the room spotless, with everything picked up and just as we found it because every time I travel that is my philosophy. It's embarrassing that they don't respond and that they make a false charge to my card, I don't know if it's a common practice to scam customers, but I'm more than sure that that mat never existed when I stayed and the fact that they don't let you fill out the form, that the phone doesn't allow you to call and you don't have a way to contact them to complain is totally illegal and against the consumer.
