Burke Mansion

We stayed at the Burke Mansion for my sister's wedding this past weekend. The whole experience was incredible! It was absolutely perfect for our weekend stay. Paul and his team were the best hosts! Breakfast was delicious and the bed was so comfortable. I highly recommend staying at the Burke Mansion the next time you are traveling to the Macon area.

We had the delightful fortuity of discovering this place after making a last minute change of plans to visit Macon, Georgia. The first thing I will say is that if historic antebellum properties that operate as a bed and breakfast are not you cup of tea, then this is not for you. There is no elevator, the bathrooms are truly period in design and function. This mansion was built in the 18th century! If you ARE into this type of experience, then without a doubt, this is the place!. My wife and I enjoy antiques and historic properties. We were very happy with our experience at Burke Mansion. The interior is just beautiful. Perhaps due to the storm, we were at times the only people in the mansion. It felt like living in a bygone era. Our spacious room was wonderfully adorned with antiques. There was an upstairs sitting room with coffee and bottled water. The breakfast is chosen upon check-in and is brought to your beautiful white table cloth dining table in the formal dining room at the time of your choice. I must also say that Paul, who is the curator of the property, was extremely nice and helpful. He made great suggestions about things to do in Macon and wonderful dining spots. He was also very good about texting us with "need to know" matters concerning the storm. We found Macon to be an interesting place to visit for two days and I must say that Burke Mansion was a highlight of the trip! Highly recommend.

Went with a group of 13 women and I stayed in the carriage house. Very comfortable and well equipped. Paul went above and beyond in meeting and managing our needs making the visit feel special. Macon has a lot to do and see. Highly recommend for a weekend.

This is a charming old homestead that has been restored. Very interesting history on the house and Macon. We stayed here while traveling through Macon and it was such a nice change from the hotels that are on interstate! Our bed/linens were very comfortable, large room, our bathroom was quite small which was the norm for when the house was build.

This is one of the most elegant, clean, comfortable, friendly, rich in history places we have ever stayed. Paul was incredibly gracious and a marvelous chef. My only regret was that we could not manage to stay more than one night. We will definitely be going back.

This is the true bed and breakfast. Everything is delightful. Modern conveniences with old world charm. The stay made us feel like royalty. The bed is very comfortable. The host is available if needed but not in your face. The morning chef was delightful and the food was delicious. Will stay here again.
