I booked this hotel as part of our week long trip in Madeira due to its proximity to the airport. The location was perfect and the hotel was spotless with an amazing hot shower. The small town where the hotel is located has plenty of little cute bars and restuarants too. Big shout out to the guy who was working doing the Karaoke during our stay - he was providing top entertainment in multiple languages and I loved it!

Small friendly hotel ideally located in Machico just a few minutes from the beach. Rooms all had a balcony with sea view. Spacious and clean. Excellent breakfast serving bacon and eggs, selection of cold meats and cheeses. Choice of lovely bread and fruit together with excellent coffee. Staff were very friendly especially Shez who so helpful and gave us some excellent recommendations of places to visit. Would highly recommend this as an excellent base to explore the island.

The Marina Resort is located in a beautiful place, it is also very large. On site you will find a beach, swimming pools, a chapel, a marina, many themed restaurants, two bars, a cafe. In general, the entire resort is very professional and is served by wonderful people. You can also get from it to the nearby capital by bus for a small additional fee. It is very easy to go on various types of hiking trails. The only thing I did not like were the evenings. Every day there were 2-hour music shows. Unfortunately, they ended at 9:00 p.m. The bar was open until 1 a.m. However, without music it was not so fun. I do not recommend it to those who in the evenings are focused on dancing and parties, because without your own vehicle or a taxi there is no chance of getting to any disco.

Going to this hostel feels like a homecoming after leaving home for holidays. The first thing you'll notice upon arrival is that you have to take your shoes off when you go inside. After that you'll either be welcomed by someone of the staff or other guests, who most likely are there for the same as you will be: adventure, hikes around the region, chilling at night. Jaca organizes various events such as Burger Mondays and Pizza Fridays which is attended by more than just the hostel guests, and has contacts for surf lessons, paragliding and more. For me it was an instant match with both staff and guests, everyone just wants to have fun and make the best possible experience together during the stay. I have no doubts where to stay when I go back to Madeira, which is just a matter of if, but when.
