Meininger Hotel Lyon Centre Berthelot

Great value for money. Really helpful staff at the 24-hours reception. Costanza did everything she could to make our stay excellent. The neighbor has plenty of place for eat and drink. The hotel is close to railway, but windows are soundproof.

We chose this hotel because it located minutes form the Viking River Cruise dock in Lyon. After a long flight to CDG in Paris, we took the train to Lyon. It was a short taxi ride from the Train station to the Hotel. Check in was friendly and we went up to our room. As expected for the very reasonable price the room was simple but spacious enough, and very clean and quiet. The shower was excellent. We walked a few blocks to pick up a light diner (many options nearby). The next morning, we walked with our luggage just a few minutes to our Viking ship. After spending a couple of days in Lyon I could see that if you are a "walker" you can walk to old town and many areas of this beautiful city. There appeared to be two breakfast options (hot beverage and some sort of pastry or a full buffet breakfast) Check out was friendly as well and we were offered a complimentary hot beverage. This stay worked perfectly for us.

There is enough sapce in the room. Bath is clean. Room has a really basic equipment and tere was no wardrobe. There is a patisserie next to the hotel, so you can have good breakfast. A tram station, metro and rail station are very close to to the hotel. It is a good stay for a few days.

We really like this hotel Consistently good quality at this spot and the other locations that we’ve visited as well Its Comfortable, affordable and has great amenities (eg coffee bar, pool room,etc) Would definitely recommend to other folks

Clean and basic. HOWEVER, two of the factors that influenced my choice of where to stay when travelling were (a) air con and (b) laundry facilities on site. The air con had been switched off because it was winter (although the 21 September and 22 degrees!) and the washing machines and dryers were not in use. I love the concept of these hotels - a cross between a hotel and a hostel - but facilities should NOT be advertised if they are not available.

Nice hotel, tramway is 5 minutes walk and connects with train and metro. I bought a 48 hours card, which gives you unlimited travel, also for the funiculair to Fourviere , where the fantastic basilica is, and enjoy the views high above Lyon. Hotelroom was fine, good bathroom, breakfast was good enough, a shame about the orange juice, it tasted like lemonade. Parking was good, but €15 per night for a motorbike, is very expensive, same price as a car, but you take far less space. Most hotels do charge less for motorcycles.
