Only good things to say about this excellent hotel! We were only there for a night as it was a stopover before catching a flight from there to Milan, but the room was perfection! The staff went above and beyond helping with dinner reservations and in our case storing medicine that needed refrigeration...much appreciated. The location is ideal for exploring Fourviere Hill and seeing the Basilica. The walk from the hotel up to the Basilica is short, very steep but worth it!

We stayed in a self contain apartment in the hotel comprising of about 200m2, 3 x double bedroom’s, well fitted kitchen, large lounge, conveniently located in the ancient part of Lyon and overlooking the the more modern city, and river. Spectacular views at night from the hotels grand terrace where you can sit and have breakfast, lunch or dinner, or relax by the pool. Easy access to the hustle and bustle of the ancient cities restaurants, bars and night life, markets and shops, via a staircase of what seemed to be about 500 steps but was probably less. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the city of Lyon.

Very lovely property with the best views in Lyon. The property has a limited amount of rooms, which lends to its quietness and coziness. The historic main lobby and bar/restaurant areas are stunningly beautiful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed & pillows were perfect! Housekeeping services were always attentive. Highly recommend the Villa Florentine.

Our travel agent had initially booked us a room at the Intercontinental but when a room opened up at the Villa Florentine she grabbed it and we were thrilled that she did! We walked past the Intercontinental one day, and it is fine, but it's more of a corporate, business type hotel and there are a ton of tour groups staying there as evidenced by the many tour busses parked along the street opposite. On the other hand, the Villa Florentine was an intimate, friendly and authentically French place to stay. Our room and bathroom were large and our bed was very comfortable and had nice linens too. Breakfast is served either indoors or outside, depending on the weather, and was more than enough to carry us through a full day of sightseeing each day. The staff was absolutely delightful too and the view over the city is simply fantastic. It's a great place to stay.

This is a very nice hotel in old Lyon. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and there’s a pool, gym and spa. It’s up on a hill so the views are very nice. Service is very good as well. The design is quite classical and given its name, it’s not surprising that it also looks a bit Italian. We had a short but comfortable stay.

Room 26 was only a kitchen short of a luxury apartment. Beautifully appointed, luxurious and quiet. The service and ding was excellent. Would return to Lyon just to stay again. Close the the Basilica and old town. If you go to Lyon and want the best, stay at the Villa Florentine.
