Very inconvenient location, in a shabby suburb of Lyon.
This place is way out of the city centre and there are literally no supermarkets, decent restaurants or cafés within reasonable walking distance. So every time it takes at least 20–30 minutes by public transport if you want to get anywhere.
On the map it seems that the stop Laënnec from metro line D is very close to the hotel, but actually you have to walk a 5–7-minute diversion round the shabby university campus to reach the hotel entrance.
The hotel entrance is not easy to find because another building right by the side of the same street already displays number 60. You need to walk through the fenced gate and then spot the entrance of this hotel.
The surroundings are fairly run-down with lots of construction and rubbles.
The housekeeping of rooms is minimal, stating on the instruction that stays under 7 days do not get any housekeeping service for free.
There are visible stains on the ageing carpet.
Despite all these downsides, front desk staff were nice and friendly. The water from the showerhead is warm and strong enough. The hairdryer is of decent quality and function. The kitchenette is well equipped.
