At first glance, the hotel might seem slightly removed from the center of Lyon, but it's actually very accessible via the nearby metro and tram stops, which are just steps from the hotel entrance. This convenient public transport connection allows you to reach the heart of Lyon in under 10 minutes, including the main train station. The surrounding neighborhood is more residential and business-oriented, offering a quieter, less touristy experience. However, you'll still find a good selection of local bars and restaurants, and the hotel itself has a restaurant that offers dining on-site. The lobby is small but inviting, with a modest seating area. While it's tastefully decorated, a touch more character or warmth could elevate the space and set it apart from typical business hotels. Service at reception was welcoming, though there was some initial confusion regarding my prepaid booking, which wasn’t immediately recognized. Additionally, no upgrade was offered despite my Accor status. However, after viewing the room I enquired whether an upgrade may be available and was promptly moved to a privilege room, which made a noticeable difference. While the hallway leading to the room felt a bit dated, the standard room itself, though small, was functional and comfortable. However, it lacked warmth and a distinctive charm. Upon moving to the privilege room, however, the experience transformed. The privilege room was beautifully designed, with modern, plush furnishings that exuded both style and comfort. The room featured a small entryway with a wardrobe, a Nespresso machine, a mini-fridge, and complimentary beverages. The bedroom had a spacious seating area opposite a large bed, separated by a small desk and vanity area. A large TV could be angled to face either the bed or the seating area. While the bathroom was well-equipped, it could have benefited from a rain shower to enhance the experience. The room was also equipped with ample electrical outlets and USB ports, along with various lighting options, adding to its convenience. I highly recommend opting for the privilege room—it truly elevated my stay and was well worth the additional cost, especially after comparing it to the standard room.
