After a long and chilly October bike ride it was such a relief to find a cosy and spotless room to fall into. There was also plenty of space to unload our gear which didn't seem to faze our hosts in any way. The dinner on offer was hot, wholesome and plentiful and the breakfast equally good. The bar again was spotless and properly run and stocked. The location is great, only a few minutes stroll from the centre of Lynton (and the top of the marvellous funicular down to Lynmouth) and a lovely 15 minute walk into the stunning Valley of Rocks and the most picturesque cricket ground you ever see!

Just spent three nights at this guest house with my wife. We cannot fault this place, very comfortable and friendly. Rooms were very clean with all amenities. Breakfast excellent and well presented.Ate at the in house restaurant twice during our stay, the food was exceptional value and plentiful. Jane, the owner gave as a warm welcome looked after us very well, she works hard to provide a very pleasant stay. We are definitely returning and would highly recommend the Sandrock to anybody. Thanks again Jane.

Fantastic welcome from the lovely Jane. Clean and homely place in a beautiful location. Food Fab. Bar great. ( Including very reasonable prices!) Absolutely nothing to complain about in fact! Thank you so much Jane.

A very clean, well kept B & B with a nice bar / restaurant area. We stayed on the 8th and 9th of September 2023 and can highly recommend. Breakfast was first class, buffet and full English. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced as is the quality food that is served in the evenings. All staff were welcoming and helpful. Will return in the future and recommend to others. Dave and Helen Davies.

Used to love it in here years ago but the current owners have really taken it downhill. The food is good and very well priced, but the service is awful (in true lynton style) with the owners making us feel very uncomfortable and as if we had intruded on their home by visiting. It really is a place for the locals and they will make it no secret that they prioritise them over other customers.

Superb host, Excellent food, small menu, therefore everything is cooked fresh. The Menu is very varied and delicious Good value 🙂 if you have an evening free , it’s a must !! Highly Recommend this hotel to eat, you will not be disappointed.

Just returned home from a lovely stay at The Sandrock in Lynton. The Sandrock is a little out of the way of the main high street but still only a 5 minute walk to the shops etc. We stayed in room 4 which was clean and well appointed, the en suite was spacious (huge infact!)and the towels really fluffy, it was also super clean and tidy. The room had lots of little extras to make it cosy and homely. The bed was really, REALLY comfy, so much so that even my partner who usually struggles when we are away said it was great, I think it was a memory foam mattress. We ate at the restaurant on one of the nights and the food was great! I had the pork belly which was amazing, really big portion and reasonable prices. Also the drinks in the bar are reasonably priced for the area (£4 a pint!) Breakfast was also lovely, with cereals, fruit and pastries aswell as a cooked breakfast (also I really liked the crockery 😂) thoroughly recommend eating here of an evening, especially as it can be quite difficult to get food in Lynton after 6pm! The decor in the communal areas (mainly restaurant and bar) is a little dated, but nothing to take away from the experience and the b and b part of the building is more modern. Overall a superb stay and I would definitely go back if in the area again. Also there is a footpath just up the road from the b and b (next to the church yard) that isn't very well known and offers amazing views of the valley of the rocks from the top.
