Pedantic, but I especially do not like parking my car on the street. Booked a suite which included parking. Really annoyed that when returning for a night out my ‘reserved’ space was gone as an unknown person had used it. Staff could really do anything. Also, when busy, they play the old trope of ‘coffee machine’ being broken. So that was what I didn’t like. Lovely independent hotel. Wifi ok, though not fast. The location, perfect. The room, Artist Suite’ was fabulous with a balcony. The breakfast was good too. Nothing they could do about it raining non stop from 3 days in June. Lynton / Lynmouth is also very nice, should Devon be your kind of place. Very beautiful walks, runs, horse riding, and other lovely things to do. Just pack a raincoat and be prepared for a long drive from pretty much anywhere.

Full disclosure we haven’t actually stayed here…. Yet! Though I do have a booking for a one night stay with dinner, bed and breakfast which I have booked for my parents. Unfortunately, we’ve had a tough few days and rang to explain our circumstance this morning. Spoke to a lovely chap (sorry I didn’t catch your name) who was so kind and thoughtful when he really didn’t need to be! Totally overwhelmed by the wonderful customer service and really helped give us a well over due smile. I recommend you book this hotel as the people who manage it will give you outstanding customer service ❤️ Can’t wait for my parents to stay here in October 🤞

We are regular visitors to Lynmouth, it’s one of our favourite places, but we have struggled recently to find a hotel we’re happy with. The Bath was enthusiastically recommended to us by a friend (who is also a fan of this wonderful location) and we have to say we were delighted with it. It has been beautifully, quirkily decorated, including the public areas which can sometimes be overlooked. Our room, Monkey Island, was perfect, three windows making the most of That View, a copper bath in the room, and every comfort. A nice touch is that there is a fridge on the landing where there is fresh milk and bottled water to help yourself to, plus extra tea bags, sugar and towels. The breakfast was really delicious, a good selection of fruit, yoghurts, pastries etc, and an excellent choice of hot food cooked to order. AND the coffee was great! We found the staff to be friendly, especially the young lady from NZ who welcomed us to the hotel. There was some training going on in the restaurant and the service may not have been as seamless as some may have liked, but it was all done with a smile which to us was much more important. In short we had a memorable stay and look forward to the next one 😃

Myself and my family have been going to Lynmouth all of our lives. My parents from when they were first married, they are in their 70s now and myself who is now 43. It is our favourite place ever and we have many many happy memories there including those of family who are no longer with us. We have stayed in the Bath Hotel many many times, often upto four times a year and have always found it intimiate, kind, charming, welcoming and perfect for the location. We would never stay anywhere else. However, things have changed there massively since our last trip in December. For some unknown reason, the hotel has recuited staff and managers who do not care about the guests, are unfriendly and preoccupied with money. We felt this December when a new manager took over who worked in London, and since then, the charm and feel has changed. We arrived yesterday for the bank holiday weekend, originally booking a twin room for myself and my father. A week before I asked, due to unforseen circumstances, if an extra bed could be added to the room as my mother now needed to travel with us. This was agreed for 25 per night. Understandably we knew this wasn't going to be a proper bed, of course not, however we did expect to be comfortable and catered for as paying, long standing, loyal guests. After arriving following a 3.5 hour journey, we walked into the room to find the spare bed was a camp bed. Fine we thought, we can cope with that, however when I sat on the bed, the so called mattress they had put on the the camp bed had no support, and when sat on, went as flat as a sheet. We were absolutely horrified that basically it was a blanket, put on top of a hard z bed. There was no way my parents at 70 could spend 3 nights on it and I was unable to due to a back issue. We raised it with the staff, and I can only say, we were dealt with appallingly. The hotel was full from today so it was either like it or lump it. At this point we knew our stay was going to be short. We asked why we were not told this when we booked, we would have brought and inflatable bed from home if we had been told exactly what we were going to be given. We were told that they would be changing the wording on the website about the z bed, absolutely no use to us with no where else to sleep or stay on a full bank holiday weekend. There was one room free for last night. We asked if we could be given that room free of charge for us to have one comfortable nights sleep before we had no choice but to come home today. We found Sam, a new manager we have never met to be half soaked, unsympathetic and unhelpful. He informed us he was new and had come from a Michelin star hotel. He has zero customer service skills, and his input was zero in trying to help at least make us comfortable for one night. The new overall manager was called, the one from London who we met at Xmas and he decided that we were to be charged full price for the extra room if we wanted to stay for the one night. This ho

Beautiful room with sea view and copper bath. Couldn't fault room or service. Decor is lovely and bar and restaurant very good. Only one very minor point. Could have done with shelf in bathroom for make up. But that is seriously minor as stay was wonderful and location spectacular.

Fantastic short trip to this hotel. Fabulous location. Really easy to find the recommended car park (even late at night). We wouldn’t have fitted our car into the limited hotel spaces. Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice and good portion sizes. We ate in the hotel one night and had a lovely meal. Menu is limited but food is good quality. Adjoining bar was busy with day tourists. Team was relatively new, and didn’t know all the booking quirks offered by secret escapes and the like, but were happy to try and help. Manager left our key for us arriving late. Cannot recommend the area enough, so many different options all on your doorstep.

We had such a lovely stay at the Bath Hotel! Staff were amazing, room was brilliant and gorgeous sea view was a surprise! Breakfast was amazing and so was the pub next door. We will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends and family!

My first visit to this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights and everything about it was fantastic, from my 'quirky twin' room to the restaurant and the adjoining Ancient Mariner next door. Great breakfast selection offering a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, croissants and a choice of cooked too. Terrific staff throughout. I was so taken with it that I've just booked again for next April!

Hi, We didn't stay at the Bath Hotel - but we did use it's restaurant (not to be confused with the adjoining Ancient Mariner) - so this is what the review is about. We both had starts, mains and desserts: Sam had the King Prawns with a dip (he didn't like the dip - but that's personal taste); and I had the Duck rolls with a gorgeous dip - lovely! We both chose the steak for mains - which was outstanding - and Sam had the ice cream and I had toffee pudding - but my toffee sauce came out when I only had a mouthful or two left to eat. - See my review of the Ancient Mariner re: waiting staff - so I will not repeat here what needs sorting. The man who was in charge of the Bath Hotel Restaurant was very good - just what you need - and we had a chat about single malt whisky's when it was quiet.
