Had lunch in the Orangey on Saturday 5th April for 4 people Possibly one of the best restaurant experiences for a very long time . Service was exceptional and special praises to Max & Renata. Food was amazing and cannot recommend the Sharing Boards enough. First time here - be back very soon Recommend you book as very busy

My husband and I stayed here for one night last night. We have to say that is was an awesome beautiful stay. The hotel is just beautiful. Our room was spotless and an extremely cosy bed, with very chic decor. (Room 10)Loved it. The staff are very polite and profressional in every way, very attentive. I must mention the Supervisor 'Dan' who I feel went above and beyond to ensure that our meal in the restaurant went well which it did. The food was outstanding. The Blade of Beef Cottage pie was exceptionally good. Dan was very aware of everyone in the restaurant, and even made time to engage in conversation with us but without being intrusive. He is a credit to the hotel. He clearly enjoys his job too which is obvious to one and all. All the staff were lovely. I cannot recommend this hotel and staff enough. It truely is a gem of a hotel. The Stay and Dine with Us Offer was just perfext See you all again soon. Oh yes. The cocktails were rather good too!!!

We had a perfect stay at this sumptuous hotel and will certainly be back. The decor was upmarket and stylish. Everything was scrupulously clean. The room had a luxurious feel to it but was homely at the same time. The toiletries smelt divine and there was a lovely touch of a box of locally made shortbread as well as tea and coffee making facilities. We were also offered fresh milk to be left outside our door if we wished. Breakfast was in the beautiful orangery. I had overnight oats followed by smoked salmon and scrambled egg, both of which were delicious. The receptionists were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a wonderful experience.

I can not fault this beautiful boutique hotel, the staff are incredible, the food is amazing and the interior design warm and homely with a dash of elegance. The team are so helpful and will arrange the countless activities that can be found on the doorstep of the hotel including a rib to the se the needles around the Isle of White to foraging the new forest. The beds are super comfy with the most softest pillows, each room individually styled with amazing showers and stan alone baths. Can't wait to return.

Everything was so professional the cafe saff were exceptional nothing was too much trouble we were made to feel very special, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The decor was very special so well done from entering being greeted by the receptionist to our leaving. delightful experience will recommend for sure.Thank you one and all Jan and Pete Kitching

First the positives… A beautifully decorated hotel. Fabulous staff. Food excellent. Sadly though, our room (31) did not meet our expectations. The room height was so low that we couldn’t stand up properly around the bed. Secondly, the lock to the door really needs fixing. The receptionist knew it was problematic and it took us minutes to enter and get the key out the door every time . Parking was full, so we had to pay £8 for 20 hour stay in the nearby long stay. Would we return… yes but 💯 not to room 31.

Just returned from another excellent stay at Stanwell House Hotel, Lymington. Love the quiet rooms even though hotel is on high street, great breakfast, (smoked salmon & scrambled eggs) and brilliant young staff. Love staying here. Do try the Campari substitute from the bar. Never had it before but it's great, made especially for the hotel apparently.

We have eaten in Samphire a few times before and have found it passable - menu which doesn't change, overpriced wine, but OK food. We left yesterday without ordering. I am vegetarian, not particularly picky. However, despite dining early - 7.15pm and the restaurant being nearly empty, the waitress informed us that there was only one starter portion of risotto left and one portion of the tagine available. There were no other vegetarian main courses available and the only other vegetarian dish was a hot soup ( in a heatwave!). Although asked, no other options were offered. What kitchen can't knock up more risotto or a pasta dish? Another party arrived, of which at least one was vegetarian, as we were not prepared to wrestle them for the only plate of food available, we chose to leave. I doubt we shall return.
