Lyme 1 Hotel

Booking and check in were easy, with great communication. Our room was lovely and stylish, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very clean throughout too. A bonus having our own private outdoor space, as long as the bathroom was not in use! No views, but the communal terrace was pretty. Great breakfast and coffee, refills from the kitchen mean that you never go without. Parking is always an issue in Lyme, but once you unload at the door, and park in Holmbush up the hill you're set for a lovely stay, being centrally located for everything Lyme has to offer.

Lyme 1 is in a great location on the main street through Lyme Regis. This however means there is a lot of traffic noise and if you are in one of the rooms facing the street can be extremely noisy especially when over enthusiastic motorcyclists ride up and down the street. This is not really a hotel, there is no reception or permanent onsite staff and breakfast is provided in wicker baskets. You need to text your breakfast order through the day before. This worked well. Some rooms have a table and chairs but our room had two planks of wood attached to the window and uncomfortable stools (see photos). There was no dressing table and I had to sit on the floor to do hair and make up looking in the full length mirror from a distance as plug sockets were not close by. There is a kitchen with a toaster and fresh bread if guests would like additional breakfast and a nice outdoor seating area up a set a steps. The staff we did encounter were friendly and professional. Our check in information was clear and breakfast ordering very efficient. The content of the baskets was good quality and I was pleasantly surprised that the croissants were served warm. The lower score is for the lack of comfort. Our room was on the second floor and if we had wanted to sit at a proper table with chairs to eat breakfast we would need to walk down two sets of stairs then up another one outdoors.

We stayed in room 7. Lovely outlook, very clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast delivered daily, with lots of choice. Addition of small fridge in the room was a welcome bonus. The hotel is ideally suited for visiting all the attractions and restaurants in the town. Would definitely recommend

Nice room, very tastefully furnished. Great service from the lady there. Good comms around breakfast and in a grt location at the top of the street very close to the shops. Booking was very easy with a nice choice of rooms. Will come again soon

It is what it is. A very old building with lots of charm. Access code was emailed to us and key found in the key box inside. We stayed in room 3 Anning. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage space. Full length mirror in the room next to power point to dry my hair. Clean ensuite with a large shower. Plenty of ledge space under neath the sink to store toiletries. Dressing gowns provided which were useful for when wandering around with blinds open! Fridge with fresh milk for making tea. We helped ourselves to extra tea bags from the kitchen. Preordered breakfast left outside our room in a wicker basket in the morning. A very pleasant stay. Thank you.

Really lovely place for a short stay. Nice comfy bed, plenty of storage space, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and nice guest toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast hamper was lovely and there was the option to make yourself toast too in the kitchen, that also has extra tea etc if needed. Lady that we saw was lovely and very welcoming. Hotel is in an ideal location for the town and beach only downside is no-where to park on site, however plenty of places in walking distance! Lyme Regis itself a really lovely friendly town.
