Alexandra Hotel & Restaurant

We have not really checked in to the hotel, we got stuck in a situation of going back to Seaton from Lyme Regis. Me and my friend missed out the last bus trip which we relied on Google timeline. So happen to have inquire for transportation at this hotel since it is the nearest point from bus stop Langmoor Gardens. Receptionist Joe has willingly extended extraordinary help. He demonstrated beyond what he shouldn’t have done since we aren’t either guests at the hotel. He made his way accountable for all, allowed us to charge phone, WiFi connection, a taxi agent and other taxi contacts for us to go home. He is so dedicated to his work and as a front desk customer service very professional indeed! He works from the heart. We thank you so much Joe, we love you! May blessings be in return to you for the help you gave us. We were back to Seaton safely!

A delightful, family hotel with a spectacular elevated position at the top of the town. Great views of Lyme Bay and walking distance to everything. Welcoming and helpful staff and lovely decor. Delicious and carefully prepared good. Excellent in every way.

We occupied one of the nicest rooms in the hotel - a fabulous sea and gardens view and a sight of the Golden Cap as well. The room was very comfortable, plenty of room, a veery comfortable bed and the bathroom well fitted out. The food was excellent - we enjoyed exceptional dinners and lovely breakfasts. All the staff are very friendly and helpful - you will be welcomed on arrival and extremely well looked after throughout. We are return visitors and can only say the hotel has gone from strength to strength over the years we have been visiting. Dinners in the Conservatory were lovely and the outdoor deck dripping with Wisteria was a delight for a relaxing afternoon. We will be back and can only recommend this lovely hotel.

Excellent hotel with beautiful rooms and amazing sea views. Delicious food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good wine choices. Cosy bar. All the staff friendly, super helpful and efficient. Easy to walk down to the sea. I can't recommend it enough.

Return visit to Alexandra hotel, which did not disappoint. Booked room 12 which has a fabulous view over The Cobb. The hotel lived up to our expectations. Staff very friendly and professional. Enjoyed dining experience. All in all an lovely return visit and we plan to come back.

The Alexandra Hotel delivers a quality experience in the heart of Lyme Regis, and is priced accordingly. The lounge and bar areas are nicely furnished, with comfortable places to sit and read or enjoy a drink from the bar. They also have a selection of board games available to sit and play in the lounge. The rooms vary a bit due to the different sections of the hotel buildings. The two rooms I saw were of a good rather than amazing standard, very clean, nicely furnished, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate facilities in the rooms, and with modern bathrooms. The one negative in my sea facing room were the blinds which let in too much light in the early morning, curtains would have been appreciated here. Some of the rooms in the extension part of the hotel require entry from the garden, and are perhaps a little underwhelming to look at. Some rooms are also fitted with walk-in showers rather than showers over a bathtub, which may suit some people, it's worth mentioning your requirements and checking what room you're getting when you book. Breakfast is of a good standard, there is quite a simple buffet, plus several cooked breakfast options, although being picky the vegetarian cooked breakfast could be improved. We had one evening meal in the hotel restaurant, it was excellent service, very good food (minor gripe - only one vegetarian option - but it was a very tasty gnocci dish). The hotel garden looks out to the sea, outstanding location. We discovered there is a small gym in a hut in the garden, requires pre-booking to use it. The car park is very small, and needs pre-booking (chargeable), there is also an electric charger (we were charged £25 to use this for our 3 night stay). Overall, this is a quality hotel with excellent service, comfortable rooms, and a relaxed ambience, and it's accordingly expensive. Good value? That depends on you, but I'm very pleased to have stayed here after walking past many times over the years, and it was a most memorable stay.
