The location was superb overlooking the North Sea. The hosts were very warm and accommodating. Welcome tea and snack on arrival. Cooked breakfast with some homegrown vegetables was delicious. Sandra generously offered some food and tea for onwards travels.

Highly recommend The Antlers as a 1st class B & B. The House is immaculate and comfortable and the food is excellent and plentiful. Everything is catered for in a lovely friendly manner by Sandra and Sandy Sutherland and Sandy took us to see the very inspiring Whaligoe Steps which we appreciate very much. Lovely people...Thank you. Eileen and Jim Hogg and Mia Anderson.

Ok ok, i know its an older couple supplementing their pension and old age but sorry, i just dont get the good reviews.. Arrived to be told we were not in the room we booked due to the fact we were only a one night booking and a person staying a week had been given our room, oh, ok, so no email or phonecall to tell us this prior to our arrival. This was very disappointing due to the fact the room we booked seemed to be better than the rest and had a four poster bed and a sea view (more on the 'view' later). Not only did the downstairs smell of fags the upstairs smelt of a combination of fags and cats litter trays. It was also freezing cold. The wife was upset because the four poster and sea views were a suprise. I went downstairs to the owners and pointed out there is no reason why we cant have the room we booked, just let us stay in that room then change the sheets etc and give it to the person who was 'staying a week'. A sort of confused non committal agreement was made and we went to our originally booked room. Very dated. It was also freezing so once again i tracked down the owners and asked if there is a heater i could borrow because the radiator is not working, the owner said, 'oh sorry, i will put the boiler on'.. Back in the room and the radiator warmed up. Sea view is a bit rich, you can just about see the sea out of the 'stag room' if you look to the extreme right but what you can see clearly is the broadside of a large caravan about 6 metres away that the owners reside in.. Blocks more or less the whole view. Ok, it also stated that it had a 'private' bathroom, indeed it did, not in or by the actual room but ACROSS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RECEPTION LOBBY!, by this time i was just going to have a soak in the bath, get some sleep and continue with our journey the next morning but 'sorry, you cant have a bath,no hot water to the bath due to a problem with the boiler...' great. the toilet seat was hanging off too. Just as i thought the night could not get any worse i noticed NO LOCKS ON THE ROOM DOORS!, had to block it from the inside with the big stool in the room and a suitcase, the one side table lamp didnt work and one of the electric blankets didnt work, the noise from the telly in the lounge was so loud we had to go out and ask the owner who was spread out on the settee to turn it down. Got to sleep ok, but hated having to go across the reception lobby to use the facilities. Time for breakfasts, small dated dining area with a covered snooker table in the middle and just random everday items scattered on top, a glass and a case of some sort. Great views out to sea but windows were a bit dirty. Breakfast itself wasnt too bad but halfway through, the final nail in the coffin for me, was a long black hair hiding under my hash browns, i was nearly sick, id had enough of the place by then but could not find the host anywhere, she just seems to cook the breakfast then wanders off. Around The handles on the cupboard doors were greasy and grotty

Sandra was so lovely and we were made to feel really welcome. Nothing was too much bother, and she definitely goes the extra mile for her guests. The views are amazing, as was the breakfast. Beds were very comfortable too, and I would definitely recommend a visit.

A very comfortable and welcoming stay, with Tunnocks teacakes in the room and fresh milk. En suite. Bed very comfortable. Views over the fields to the coast. It's only small, with three rooms, so quiet. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast in the morning. There's nowhere nearby to eat a meal, so eat before arriving or go to Wick.

Fantastic place to stay. The views were just stunning. We had the room with a four poster bed and our own bathroom. It was all spotless. As soon as we arrived Sandra made us a pot of tea and we sat in the sitting room. We met Sandie and he was so interesting to talk to. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We had just returned from a trip to Orkney and our Airbnb was a disaster. Unclean, wet sheets, and possibly *******. We were disgusted and had to leave. It was not possible to sleep there. We saw The Antlers on *********** and decided to drive over and take a look. This was at 9:35 PM. When we found the lication, it was a personal home. I really didn't feel comfortable knocking on a strangers door at 10 pm. Luckily for us the innkeeper was out walking her dog. We asked if she was associated with the inn, and se said yes....and she had rooms available. She was wonderful. Making sure we had everything we needed. Even got our breakfast order......which was delicious. I can not say enough about how wonderful our stay was. Most highly recommend.
