I checked in at around 12 o'clock in the evening and when I opened the door, there was no cleaning. I went to the front desk and said that it was not cleaned. The foreigner at the front desk just said that there was no one at the moment and the rooms were full. What should I do? I don’t know if there is anyone there, the rooms are all full. Like a robot. The manager came 20 minutes later, and after a series of operations, he said he could change rooms. It was really the first time ever that the room we checked in had not been cleaned. With such an attitude, it was natural for us to say that no one had cleaned it, so we kept waiting like this in the middle of the night! It’s so hard to understand, there’s not even a word of sorry! ! !

I also checked the hotel's check-in terms on booking and it was the same, but the hotel asked me to check out at 11:00. We stayed at the Hostellerie du Grunewald for 3 nights and booked a superior room, located in the second floor. The room was clean and spacious and equipped with kettle and a Dyson fan. As the hotel is in a historic building, there is no air condition, but that's not a problem. Great welcome by the employee at the reception, who spoke many languages which made the check in a friendly experience. The breakfast buffet was good, not a huge choice, but everything there, what I expected... Good hotel for a short stay a bit outside of the city center, with free parking at the train station nearby and free buses that lead to the city (line 10 and 11) - getting into town is very easy.

My experience was great. Room and amenities was as pictured and as expected. I had an experience with good service. Maybe a downside if your an American used to AC is that the room did not have AC, they provided a fan. Restaurant attached was beautiful, it is a pricey top notch restaurant some come prepared to shell it out!

Great hotel just outside the city. Free transport to city center with electric busses. Breakfast is super. Rooms are well decorated. Restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesdays. Shower needs more ventelation. Beds are a little too soft. Room reasonably clean.

Excellent location , easy to get to from either No10 or No11 bus which are free as is all transport all over the city . Only gripe is the outside terrace bar can be noisy if you need to get an early night and travel early next morning . Otherwise clean and friendly

Bedroom very spacious and comfortable. Nice breakfast. The drinks in bar a bit pricey considering it's out of the city and the Portuguese restaurant across road serve lovely wine for 3 eur a glass. Staff very helpful. Would go back and good value for money

Horrible experience comparable to a week in jail. Nothing works, there is no hot water and no Tv and it’s also dirty. It reflects Luxembourgish arrogance and ignorance. Such a place can only go on in a country like this, if you worked in another country they would have already make you close. Change job!

Very nice place to have an evening of relaxed conversation and very nice dinner. Staff was friendly, terrace spacious and tables not to close together. Creates a nice atmosphere. Dinner was at a high standard, well seasoned but not “Michelin star” kind of food. But worth a visit! Nice wine pairing to, although for the price (€ 45 for five glasses) you don’t get full glasses. I think for the volume of wine they served it was probably more like 3 full glasses.
