The hunting palace of the last Portuguese monarch has been a hotel for more than a hundred years. It is very suitable for the atmosphere of a mysterious story. It fits this setting from all angles: a grand but decadent building, located in the mountains surrounded by dense forests, inconvenient transportation, a stunning lobby, super high windows, you can see the forest and fog, ancient furniture, not enough service staff so you have to wait for everything, old facilities, no food or drink, the roast suckling pig nearby is invincible but you have to take a taxi 5 kilometers down the mountain to eat.

It's even better than the internet-famous restaurant in Lisbon. The first traditional dessert, bussaco, is very delicious.
