Lares de Chacras

This boutique hotel was pretty easy to find and is within walking distance of the central area of town. It is adorable and an oasis in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. The food was delicious and there is a complimentary wine machine at the entrance. Good wine too. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean and full of interesting discoveries. For example, as you walk through the entrance, there is a see-through glass walk-over their cellar downstairs. There is a garden where you can relax or enjoy a meal. It is quiet and the beds are comfy. The bath and shower are modern and the whole place is just classy. The staff is helpful and young and motivated. We used the laundry service – a local lady who returned our laundry in 1 day all folded and super clean … even the socks were folded. A great find for us and if you are looking for a place to stay and visit the local bodegas … this is one of the best.

Lares de Chacras It’s hard to put into words our experience at Lares de Chacras, mostly because a part of us still wishes we were there. For starters - the building is impeccable. IT is so well designed. If you love architecture this is a must visit. Nothing sets the tone more than the giant front door. Once you step inside, the team members (I wont refer to them as staff because you get a sense that the family who owns this property who are on site regularly treat their people as a part of the team and not a hired hand) genuinely greet you. Every team member made us feel as though they wanted our experience to be top notch. From helping me ensure a medication that needed to be refrigerated and the ice pack frozen was taken care of (also moving this for me to a different location - more on that later) was above and beyond. The team also helped us sort out Vineyard visits in advance, offered dining suggestions and booked e-bikes for us with Sherpa Experiences (book this in advance it is awesome!!!). Every morning the breakfast was a highlight. A delicious spread of fruit, pastries, fresh juice, Coffee and an entree menu that offered 5 different items that were made to order! Dynamite. The lovely lady who ran breakfast was top notch. So kind, lovely and just made you feel welcomed. The pool area is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers to make you feel like you are in an oasis that is centrally located making transport easy! We used bikes, walked the cute little town and took Ubers for dinners that were a little beyond walking distance. We had originally booked a 3-night stay. Both not wanting to leave the property we had been told by one of the team members that the owners were about to open another hotel adjacent to Lares de Chacras soon and were having sort of a soft opening of sorts to work out any kinks before the hotel goes live online. Knowing we would have to pay a cancellation fee to the hotel we were set to move to we were conflicted. Not wanting to leave but also not wanting to over spend. Next thing you know, the team offered us a deal so we could provide them information on the new spot and stay on site for another 3 days. Boy, did we luck out. The new hotel is just as beautiful as Lares with a similar style but also feels like its own identity. It is well appointed, has a pool area and a beautiful stone fire place that greets you in the center of the room when you walk in. Utilizing the same front of house team members for reception, there is no doubt this hotel will be another gem. We have already discussed traveling back to Mendoza to make Lares de Chacras and the soon to be named sister hotel our home base for a few weeks. This team makes you feel like family - which I think is the goal and they far exceeded our expectations. In terms of location, 11/10- you can’t beat it. This place is awesome. Room very spacious with nice patio with easy access to pool. Super friendly & helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts. Best hotel of the 6 we stayed at on this trip of Peru, Chile & Argentina. Highly recommend this property.

What a beautiful hotel. Centrally located to lots of wineries, the hotel is small and boutique offering exceptional service, great food and of course, some wonderful wines. We had a large room on the ground floor (3) with terrace out on to the swimming pool. Fluffy towels, comfy beds and a great shower and bath. The inclusive wine tasting each evening was a nice touch and came with a knowledgeable tutor plus savoury petit fours. We had dinner in the wine cellar one evening for a special occasion and could not fault the service of all of the hotel staff. This really is a perfect base to explore this area.

What a spectacular place! We arrived after spending 2 weeks traveling around Peru and Argentina, and this was by far our favorite hotel. The rooms and public spaces were gorgeous and cozy, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast buffet was delicious, and the staff was incredibly helpful with recommendations and reservations. It's nearby a number of wineries and restaurants, or you can have snacks or full meals at the hotel. For an extra special experience, book their private dining room in the wine cellar. Highly recommended!

What an amazing experience at Lares de Chacras. The perfect jumping off point for a trip to Mendoza. The staff had amazing recomendations for wineries, restaurants and activities and was always willing to help accommodate any questions or requests. The hotel itself is a perfect, cozy retreat nestled in a very centrally located spot! Waking up to breakfast there everyday was such a treat, and the pillows help with a perfects night rest.
