This is rated as a 4 star hotel. 2 main points at issue. 1) There is one entry point in to the hotel with a series of steps to reception. There is no ramp and certainly there was no one to assist me with my suitcase. There is a disability mover at the entrance but in 2024 but no one was there and the vast majority of people can manage suitcases/ prams, wheelchairs, using a well designed ramp. I would have thought would be a very basic feature. 2) No communication to hotel guests regarding accessing level 6 when it’s closed due to a function. I stepped out of the lift expecting to eat lunch, only to be told by someone not in the hotel uniform that it was closed to me.Full stop. I found it rude that as a hotel guest I was not spoken to by a member of staff. Why was this responsibility handed over or taken over by a member of the public? All this could have easily been avoided if fontina had the foresight to post notices in each floor. I had no idea if the restaurant was going to be open for dinner. I was just told there was a wedding and to go. Smaller issues: The person who checked me in gave me no information on WiFi, and I had to ask for a map. Zero interest as to whether I wanted any tourist information. no soap- only a dispenser and not any particular brand. This is not 4 stars, sorry guys. TV selection. Great if you speak Spanish but not one English Channel; not even the news.

This hotel is in the old town in Lugo so great location with plenty of restaurants nearby. We are a group of 21 cyclists and the hotel were superb-very helpful with our luggage and bikes especially the manager. Breakfast for 10 euros was good value too.

Well located within the city walls, a short walk to P. Santo Domingo underground car park where parking for 2 days cost me £10. The location is on pedestrianised street so it does require a short walk with luggage, The hotel is much what you would expect from a 4 star but our room badly needed repainting with black marks up the walls. I have stayed in better decorated 1 stars in Spain. Breakfast has a reasonable choice in the Galician style of being more humble that you often find in USA or UK. The receptionist missed several parts of her job in not giving details of meal times nor wifi code. There is a cafe on the terrace but with plastic blinds folded down, it was stuffy and unpleasant. On our floor the fire doors were wedged open with wooden wedges. Now whilst I know nothing about Spanish regulations, I know that fire doors that are open, do not act as fire doors.

The hotel favors groups to the detriment of individuals, for a question of profitability and occupancy. It is not worth its four stars, even if the rooms are correct. The dinner was very average in quality, in the cold on a windy terrace while the groups are in a closed room, warm
